i guess my more precise point is:
certain people like to argue about behaviour as if humans were a very specific kind of rational, but that seems to be a wrong assumption
and whether they should be that kind of rational is also not necessarily answered in the positive

I make all these cool RGB things and tech stuff but the only thing that gets boosts is fucking despacitOwO

I know that e-scooters can be annoying and all but may we not be distracted from the real enemy: cars

Piracy discourse 

Read a thread about how piracy hurts small creators and Got Angry.

In my experience, piracy *doesn't* hurt small creators, because I've never met *anyone* whose thought process was "pirate instead of buying" rather than "pirate because you can't buy". It's always been the latter, and the evidence of Netflix backs this idea up; piracy dropped when people could experience movies affordably, and picked back up when the proliferation of exclusive streaming services destroyed that.
