@sys64738@hellsite.site bear plushie, was it the djungelskog?

writing in general is so much effort with very delayed gratification (if any) so it's very hard to do when it's not mandatory for assignments deadlines..

but when i'm in writing flow i do like it and seeing people read and react to what I write is great!

i love writing by just rambling on and hate proofreading my own stuff because i already know what it says and dopamine shortages

i do quite like proofreading other people's work though, restructuring stuff or fixing mistakes

COVID PSA

@jessmahler@wandering.shop also perhaps interesting perspective from a fellow board member (a hackerspace in my case), what we settled on now wrt covid precations is watching a 7 day average of the hospital admissions, if it's below 50 we don't mandate masks, when it goes above 75 we do again (for some hysteresis). Maybe not perfect but the country dropped *any* mask stuff many months ago so glad we're at least still doing something..
oh and we improved the ventilation a lot, using various co2 meters as proxy variables

COVID PSA

@jessmahler@wandering.shop yep, hospital admissions is absolutely the number to watch. it also shows if the hospital system is too overloaded to provide sufficient care for people who suffer complications

very nice to have a decent caffeine tolerance again

alc, drugs and programming

we all know the ballmer peak, but what about other substances?

Dutch government propaganda, Chile

The NOS is really outdoing itself in its propaganda role with their article about the vote for the new Chilean constitution, full of:

people in favour of reform all live in squalor with dogs fighting in the street over garbage bags
pinochet was a dictator but at least he made line go up
interview with one of the only conservative members elected to the council, who said that it was "traumatic" how left wing the council was
think of the poor corporations' feelings now that they can't refuse drinking water to poor people

ohh, i should use one of my sawed-off SHA2017 badges for a backups monitoring + alerting dashboard!

@dumpsterqueer@ondergrond.org those boats look so chill!

maybe I'll review my draft today and hopefully publish stuff at the end of it, also thinking about writing another article, explaining the React Hooks model for beginners to React, should hopefully be a nice companion piece to make it all more accessible

@thufie an old version of Zellij created a 16TB logfile and zfs compressed it down to 150GB so I didn't notice anything :")
