above room temperature takes, sexualised violence, speaking out as a victim

So... idk how to start this because as an ex-birdsite poster it seems like no one has ever manages to address this without being shouted down, and I expect to get a lot of blocks out of this, but I need to talk about it anyway.

This is the synopsis of a longer essay I'm going to publish soon-ish so I'll try to keep it brief but I might go off on a tangent anyway because it's an emotional topic, so expect a short thread rather than a single post.

Let's get right to it:
We need to stop acting like cis women cannot be harrassers, abusers, and rapists.
Whenever anyone I know has tried to talk about their experiences with this, they've been told that they're just trying to derail The Conversation (which, since it's about sexualised violence, must be about cis men, or, owing to both transmisia and the prerogative of interpretation that lies with "traditional feminists", trans women), and trying to cover up rape.

@GreenandBlack@sunbeam.city @jess very good read!
Also this snippet at the end :D

If the previous boosts from this account don't make it clear enough, Computer Fairies is strictly a no-TERF zone. We welcome LGBTQIA+, queer, otherkin, furries, and other minorities alike. We don't welcome those who disagree with our existence. Radfems fuck off.

TERFs

Feminism that isn’t inclusive of trans women is shit for all women. You can’t exclude trans women without also excluding some cis women too.

TERFs know this but they don’t care and will gladly sacrifice others to meet their hateful goals. Goddess help them though if there is ever any massive push for karyotyping because some of them are going to be unpleasantly surprised by their own results.

@ida acetone is a *very* bad idea, almost all laptop plastics will melt under it. IPA will probably work fine, depending on the plastic

Stephanie Hofeller daughter of Thomas Hofeller, a prominent Republican redistricting strategist, made public all the contents of her deceased father's hard drives pertaining to gerrymandering and voting laws.

When asked if she was a democrat..

"'The reason I don't identify as a Democrat is because I'm an anarchist,' she says. 'I don't believe that we're going to really find solutions to the deeper problems of inequality in a system that demands a hierarchy, which is, by definition, unequal.'"

do you have a moment to talk about our lord and saviour Pasta Soup

food, vegetarianism, brand, moral

@jess not really, them getting a separate grill for veggie stuff would probably offset the environmental benefits...

hot take lowtech magazine

@emsenn@tenforward.social also contrary to what they say, lowtech magazine's site is anything but lowtech as they run behind cloudflare....

@goat@hellsite.site listening to DOOM 2016 or Master Boot Record is the only thing that lets me channel my anger into writing java

I wanted to generate some low-poly (triangle) patterns, thinking it wouldn't be too hard.
turns out it is kinda hard, so time to reserach Voronoi diagrams and Delaunay triangulation

@rigatonimonster it's this famous study where they said to a kid, "you can have one marshmallow now, or two marshmallows later," and the kids who took the two marshmallows had higher SAT scores and better life outcomes. This is supposed to prove that being able to delay gratification is good, rather than proving that people whose life experience has given them reason to trust authority and go along to get along have an easier time succeeding
