I deleted all my follow requests yesterday cause none of em DMd me
now I got 6 more who are doing the same thing

y'all
read a bio

@thufie oh totally forgot featured hashtags (and accounts?) were even a thing. I guess if someone bothers to set those it's fine to show them on the profile

pagination limits would be good too yeah (currently it's just always the last 20 because I don't do any pagination)

relatedly: unsure what to work on next for FediFox Shield, nor how to design the homepage and other instance info pages

oh hey, picked up tf2 again recently after a very long break and just reached 500 hours

re: adhd meds ~

intuitively makes sense too I suppose, more focused on one thing means less meandering and less variation in thoughts

@bram not sure how gender would ever be relevant for lost and found.. but..

@bram sorta surprised yesterday the NS lost and found form has male, female and 'not relevant'

adhd meds ~

definitely starting to notice how meds affect my creativity. I can work/concentrate on a project a lot better but design decisions are much harder?

but now you can search FediFox Shield rendered/proxied profiles and statuses properly again glitch-dev.pixie.town/@alice

turns out it was sort of my fault, reverse proxy not setting the original Host header, so FediFox proxied it to Mastodon with the FediFox shield listen ip as the Host

seems mastodon adds alternate_domains to the exception lists

which doesn't actually make any sense, because this is about the *ip that connects to the server* not the one the server is accessed as

Show thread

yay, ran into another shitty Mastodon connection protection thing with no clear to disable/add exceptions
(HostAuthorization, it's a ruby/puma thing apparently)

re: FediBlock c.im

@host @gingerrroot @admin mas.to and mastodon.scot seem to have the same admin (trumpet) and ko-fi, but I don't see any (public) link to c.im other than that c.im says to have forked the mas.to rules

Some more context: FediFox Shield handles all pages on your instance that are *public* and *unauthenticated*.

Most importantly that's local users' profiles, and threads.

I have some ideas about what can be done differently from Mastodon (both the 3.x and 4.x interfaces), keywords would be *configurability* and *consent*.

What do you want the public to see about your account, what do you not?

:boosts_ok_gay: I'm looking for feedback on opt-in/opt-out functionality for FediFox Shield, my alternative Mastodon (api compatible) static frontend.

Due to technical limitations, users can fully opt-out of having any of their posts shown anywhere by blocking the user the shield server logs in as.

Another thing I want to make configurable for users is (not) showing their unlisted posts.

Any other thoughts?
