unasked for advice, self promo

@dysphoricunicorn ah, interesting. I decided against using a library for now because my usecases are simple enough to write some simple hook based stuff github.com/superseriousbusines

My go-to for validation would be @joepie91's validatem library though, I really like the way it composes (complex) rules validatem.cryto.net/

@dreadpirateyarr it seems the toots are arriving very slowly too, taking 30+ minutes. might be the sidekiq queue being super overloaded

(upgrading the 500gb ssd so the mirrored zpool can grow to 1tb)

buying a new pixie.town ssd to house all your stinky toots

keeping mastodon rent low by firing my fedigun out the window at midnight for a week or so

@joepie91 @erikk@chaos.social nope just lots and lots of files, a full-size and a thumbnail version of each

it's actually pretty weird because the tootctl media progress only reports 130489 files to process 🤔

mastodon folder has more than 139 billion files, and transfer failed because the new server ssd storage doesn't have enough space left (more than 140GB)...

fediverse, beginner's guide

Decided to have a shot at writing a very concise guide to the fediverse, because a lot of the guides are quite long: gist.github.com/joepie91/f924e

Hope this is helpful to someone!

Musk, hellsite

@doot@glitterkitten.co.uk ohh I get it now, it's full of grime because he's down bad for his ex

one of the kids at scouts camp had this and uhh i might have to go shopping

reading documentation for React Final Form (form management library) while playing Sampa The Great - Final Form
youtube.com/watch?v=JgZ5UsigkP

and it's going to have to go through this all at least once more, with the instance shut down, so it's fully complete

(and the old server still uses stinky spinning rust so yeahh)
