i am once again reminding everyone that GoToSocial is buggy, weird, alpha software 
the project is about a year and a half old
you should not switch to GoToSocial if you value your sanity
it likely won’t Just Work immediately in the way you’re used to from other fedi server softwares
it’s pretty decent + usable already, and we’re working on it prettymuch constantly, but it’s not even in beta yet, please temper your expectations ;)

One of the most important things an admin on the fedi can do is defederate. Defederate hateful instances, edgy instances (they often interact with hateful instances), anything that strikes you as skeevy or off.
