Someone told me yesterday that you can see battery degradation with 'acpi -V'

Battery 0: design capacity 1855 mAh, last full capacity 347 mAh = 18%
Battery 1: design capacity 2179 mAh, last full capacity 147 mAh = 6%

so yeah that explains the atrocious battery performance on my old thinkpad hah (Framework is still 100% of course)

NixOS resources, kinda long :NixOwOs:

@Vierkantor there's definitely a lot of abstract/mathematical base to Nix/NixOS but I know nothing of those, instead using it more pragmatically myself. The original research papers it's based on might be interesting to you too:
nixos.org/~eelco/pubs/iscsd-sc
nixos.org/~eelco/pubs/phd-thes

To learn Nix there's this guide, nixos.org/guides/nix-pills/why (especially chapter 4 for the language basics)
Getting a simple running system into a vm is rather easy, it's just partitioning, generating a default config, then installing that.

Lastly there's various Matrix rooms by the project that can be quite helpful (and actually nice, techbros are kept in check) :nixos.org is the main room for questions

@charlotte yeah I wanted to build something similar around wireguard/nix..

@charlotte @iitalics yeah I got into it as a server OS too, with shared config + orchestration through morph. after about a year on multiple servers im now starting to use it on my Framework too

@charlotte yeah that makes sense, and really the documentation isn't great (yet). You have to learn Nix (a functional programming language) and then all the NixOS stuff to apply that. I can gather some of the beginner stuff I used when I get home if you want

@goat@hellsite.site good night, dream of all the seawater you'll drink

@charlotte uhh uhh it's pretty difficult to get started.. but also like so worth it

@vy well really it always has for me, under various linuxes

i know feb 14th is a while ago but can someone mail me a pipebomb

@goat@hellsite.site @violet oh cool we can do that thing where you revive dead instances

@dumpsterqueer@ondergrond.org ooof, yeah that's a good improvement

@julialuna@chaos.social I think that means the remote port isn't actually open
