@thufie imo native apps aren't being written enough because the frameworks suck, frankly. There's now nodegui and related projects that render React in QT5 which hopefully makes QT usable ya know.
As for local webservers, that's definitely a useful thing, and usually possible too. Just when the local running stuff like file access is tightly integrated that's more difficult
