@theonefreeman except it's google. My mail setup has those things, but they refuse to accept it. I went with fastmail for now

@z0mbie42@mastodon.social do you have any specifics? IMO Riot has become quite good

very nice to see the local timeline is getting more populated, enjoy your stay fellow pixies 🧚‍♂️

also, fuck dog people. Good pets are able to bury their own shit, if you fail to pick a pet that's capable of such things, it's now *your* responsibility to clean that shit

am sorry for being serious but i have to make an announcement

i don't like nazis!! nazis are mean. even though i am normally a nice kitty, i want to scratch them and bite them and eat all their files. if you are a nazi, unfollow me now! i don't want to be your friend.

and if you think i'm being too mean in this post, i don't want to be your friend either. i don't like people who defend mean bullies. pls go away :blobcatknife:

@z0mbie42@mastodon.social Hey, for a platform that's so focused on open-ness, including in software, why would you pick Discord as your chat application, when floss alternatives exist? Like Matrix, or Mattermost/RocketChat/Zulip/Gitter

:matrix.org now belongs to Matrix United, and will have proper moderation, following their code of conduct :D

@tobi@social.kabi.tk no, I'm asking for it so that email I send, doesn't get silently dropped. Selfhosting is nice but just doesn't work with our Google overlords

@emsenn@tenforward.social selfhosting mail is nice and such, and works fine.
except gmail will silently mark as spam/drop it completely whenever they please.

Which email provider would you recommend that *does* work with gmail? Sadly this is a requirement, since like 80% of my hackerspace is on gmail.....

musk, violence

@GreenandBlack@sunbeam.city that's a very long 8 months

@switchingsocial@mastodon.at style post:
(aka ) is an easy, widely used free federated chat system.

You can find a moderated list of instances to sign up at matrixservers.net/servers/
Although I would recommend staying away from the main server, matrix.org, since it's quite overloaded.

The most popular, and finished client is Riot, which is available for web, desktop (electron), android and iOS.

Other notable clients are Nheko(C++/QT), Fractal(Rust/gtk) and Pattle (Android). There's also a lot of others in various stages of development: matrix.org/docs/projects/try-m

I'm also developing another webclient, which aims to be faster, and more like Telegram in terms of ui/ux. You can find more info at neo.pixie.town although I currently would not recommend using it as your main client.

@goat@hellsite.site sheep or goat cheese when cold, cow and mozarella when melted

@noelle @zoe mastodon also doesn't linkify them (probably because of that)

@goat@hellsite.site is there a Shitting as a Service SaaS for that already
