So, something I heard recently on my local NPR station on borrowing ebooks vs. hardcover from your local library:
Apparently, the library pays ~$15 for a hardcover book, but ~$150 for the ebook - and the ebook is a LIMITED LICENSE for, say, 52 loans of that book. After which they have to pay ANOTHER $150 for the book, AGAIN.

The takeaway here: If you can get the hardcopy from the library instead of borrowing an ebook, please do so. The impact on their budget will be SIGNIFICANT.

I'm trying to determine the scope of support for the Mastodon's platform "Move Account" activity across the fediverse. We intend to use this in the relatively near future to convert all of the streams repository's ActivityPub facing accounts to nomadic digital identities - without losing all of our ActivityPub friends in the process.

I'm certain we'll find a number of fediverse projects that don't support this activity and will require manual re-friending. If you have knowledge of any platforms which don't - please reply with the platform name so that this procedure is well documented and we don't have a lot of surprises and missing friends.  Thanks.

I’ve just found that applying a domain suspend to a root domain (xx.yy) seems to no longer suspend all users from subdomains (zz.xx.yy and aa.xx.yy)!

I’m on v 4.2.8 from Glitch-soc. I can confirm it definitely worked in the past, but recently when blocking a scraper, it didn’t — I had to apply a second block to the subdomain for the user to be suspended.

Has anyone else seen this? Anyone seen code changes that might cause this?
