I guess the bonus to this is, I can be less gentle extracting the one useful piece of hardware from the surface at this point (the SSD) and sell the accessories
Anyway I now have a working Lenovo Yoga, for a fraction of the price I got my old surface pro at, with better specs and notably *much* more accessible maintenance access

Yaaaay I figured out what was wrong with the secondhand Yoga I bought!
For some reason one of the DIMM spaces was really sensitive to case pressure. I started suspecting as much when I had two sticks in and the VRAM got scrambled in a *checkerboard* shape.
I switched out the two 8GB sticks that came with it with the single 16GB that was in the other spare thinkpad, and it works without any disruptions whatsoever!
I have a drawing tablet computer again! \o/

I'm wondering if a dirt simple todo program called "to-do pile" would be beneficial for people like me with a scorching case of ADHD?
Basically, it has a single button, "WHAT DO NEXT?"
And it randomly picks an item from the pile and puts it in bold, and changes to two buttons
"DONE" "DIDN'T FINISH"
then the program loops. :P :)

It turns out this modern WIFI chip is using SDIO to talk to the microcontroller, and SDIO builds on the PCMCIA standard, so it uses Card Information Structures to define the metadata for what it can do.

Finally doing the last of the workstation setup and it's incredible, the GTX1070 *just* fits. It shouldn't, but Lenovo had the foresight to cut open a small outcropping at the front of the chassis that fits a card of its size
Still a tight fit though.
