Two representatives from upstate NY who are continuing to discredit the election - Stefanik (21st) and Jacobs (27th) - are board members of a Washington think tank called the National Endowment for Democracy. "The National Endowment for Democracy (NED) is an independent, nonprofit foundation dedicated to the growth and strengthening of democratic institutions around the world." The irony is palpable.
Yes, it's a bullshit "bring democracy to the world so we can take their oil" thing started by Reagan, but think tanks like this are one of the ways that congresspeople gain clout and form the business connections that help them become lobbyists later on.
Let them know they shouldn't have board members whose actions are the exact opposite of their mission statement!

Dreamt about some sort of weirdly convoluted chess variant with a 9x9 board with moats and a knave piece who moved like a knight but could also jump diagonally, and only took pieces they went over like a checker, including the diagonal capture zone
Also had some thermoplastic pieces for chess including this knave, where the king was represented as some hulking beastperson and the queen as a a human but tempered by battle, pawns were kobolds... ahhh it was a thing
Also dreamt I stranded myself at my old school by locking my purse inside a room after hours but that's less interesting

TIL via a DeafBlind TikToker and confirmed via a DuckDuck search that, in an emergency situation, if you are with a (culturally!) DeafBlind person, drawing an X on their back or, barring that, palm, is a way to communicate "We have to get out of here, NO DISCUSSION."
Disability advocates often talk about the importance of not physically grabbing/moving people. Emergencies MAY be an exception but now you know a way to communicate instead!
