@sunsetmoth Incredibly late to this post (wish I had seen it before, it's a good read) but if you still wanna play around with the idea, have you checked out the Pixelvision 8 project at all? While similarly bound by typical fantasy computer shortcuts to the pico-8, it also was designed to have flexible limits o:

@Runner @hierarchon from what I hear pretty decent. Main character is nonbinary-coded, goblins and other "monstrous" species in fantasy are treated respectfully... I'm not a fan of isekai at all and I've not watched it myself, so my words are meaningless though x:
