A remark from a sister team at work got me pondering, so #AskFedi: What do you expect the average (p90) round-trip latency to make an API call from a smartphone on LTE to be?

(imagine the endpoint is reasonably responsive, is hosted at a cloud provider, etc.)

@LunaRogue like 75-250ms if you're in a city, otherwise, mugh, who knows

it's worth mentioning that here (israel) highways and trains tend to have Good LTE and you can reasonably Do Things from them
