A fantasy world except the Dragons are replaced by giant squeaky and friendly moths

alternatively: moth-dragon hybrids, as beautiful and fierce and graceful as a dragon, instantly chases after any lamp like they're a huge cat chasing a laser pointer

Christmas

It is November 3rd and my neighbor is inflating a giant Santa

Make the net weird again. Hand write sites like it’s the 90s. Pick interesting domain names and make fan sites or random knowledge known to everyone. Don’t monetize anything. Spearhead new protocols like Gemini. Make mods for games on your site. Make FAQs for obscure games no one knows about. Make public software services available to anyone. Make a news site about a really random subject. Create music in all kinds of different formats. Most of all, do it because you want to!

Hello, trying to recall how this site works after all this time :)
Gently throwing in a test post with some artworks from the last year.

Gentle reminder to all you lovely artists recently arrived and reposting art: Please spend just a few moments adding alt text to your images before posting, if you are able.

It's an important part of accessibility and politeness here. It doesn't have to be an extensive description, nor a perfect one <3

queer suppression in malaysia, please boost

i may have been a little ambiguous when i was tooting about the raid on a #queer party i was at a couple days ago. i haven’t seen anyone on mastodon cover it, but please read and share. queer people in #malaysia need your help and support.

this article covers it pretty comprehensively, scmp.com/week-asia/people/arti

if you have the means for it, please help donate to local organisations standing for queer rights and against our continued oppression, especially against those of the muslim faith.

"ooh, big stretch!" i say as my cat makes incorrect inferences

I host the pixie.town Mastodon and Matrix servers (and a bunch of other smaller services).

I also work on a variety of projects, like the ActivityPub server and a new ActivityPub client , as well as a bunch of other projects you can find at git.pixie.town/f0x

social.pixie.town is co-moderated by @thufie, she has a liberapay at liberapay.com/thufie

Use Halloween to spread werewolf bf and werewolf gf propaganda

Pro-Tip for my fellow existing Fediverse users: Please prioritize earnest advice for new users for the next few weeks! They need it and are likely still detoxifying from irony poisoning elsewhere. They'll be plenty of time for shitposting later!

That and the "misinfo" content warning does wonders here.

Thank you!

New familiar idea for Symphony of the Night:

Cursed fairy that drinks all your potions and calls you a bitch

we love our DND character

we love that dangerously lesbian wyvern, and her shy Dryad girlfriend

I've learned that when you make a major change in your life, whether it's pursuing a new vocation/calling, or starting a new spiritual practice, or what have you, life will inevitably throw obstacles at you. There will be contingencies you could never have prepared for, because you've not been down this road before.

I used to think this is the universe telling me to alter course, but now I think of it as the universe giving me a dialog box: "Are you sure?"

If I am sure, then staying determined, continuing to learn and grow and push beyond comfort zones, and refining my approach as I go, is how I click on the Yes-button. Doing what I know I need to do to keep on this path, even on days when I don't feel like doing it, is how I click on that button.

There's no shame in changing your mind and altering course again. Clicking on the No-button and doing something else because you aren't sure is also acceptable option, and absolutely no one has a right to tell you one way or another which button you should choose.

It's also okay not to know which button to choose and to ask for advice. We none of us are alone in this journey.
