@wizard My friend and I ran a Terraria server in middle school, and when we started to get a lot of players, our ISP started switching our IP address when we got a lot of traffic.

@ky0ko My first laptop was an orange clamshell ibook. I got it in middle school from my university's surplus shop, and I installed the PPC build of Debian, since I didn't have any OSX install disks. I wish that I had kept it.

Chelsea Manning

Is still being held against her will by Trump's Justice Department for refusing to testify to THE 2ND Grand Jury convened in the case against WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.

Manning was released briefly last spring after the first grand jury expired. Prosecutors quickly spawned another Grand Jury and promptly jailed Manning.

THis is an abuse of justice, overreaching and punitive treatment of Manning by Trump administration, who vowed to jail manning.

@sig@efdn.club Yeah, that sounds like it would be very annoying.

@sig@efdn.club It's surprising how many websites will make poor design choices that hurt compatibility with screen readers. At work I sometimes help someone who's blind and deaf when he comes across an issue that he can't figure out using his braille display.

this is a heavy metal cover of Simon and Garfunkel's sound of silence

i know that sounds ridiculous but it's actually fuckin awesome

mad science plan

It's easy to make large things fly. Zeppelins have proven to be capable of lifting large amounts of mass.

So, from that, we can attach large amounts of chemical filtering equipment, on a large, flying platform, to sift the air for unwanted chemicals. And at that point. . . at that point you may as well stylise the entire thing to look like a flying whale swimming through the sky, hoovering up the clouds and the air through their mouths. Skywhales, keeping your atmosphere clean!

@f0x Nice. I haven't taken a picture of my EDC in a while. I misplaced my multitool recently, so the only knife I have is the tiny GNU swiss army knife. It works for opening boxes at work, but something a bit bigger would be better.

just laid down and saw something darting and was like "oh no, a bug :(" but instead it was a tiny lizard and i feel at peace with the world knowing this .. hello tiny lizard i wish you well .. grow strong and healthy

genital mention

@garfiald @remulacfrommars >not shaving your balls with a straight razor

I’m the hard recreational liquorice the government doesn’t want you to know about

Thank you Amazon music, for 'adding new audio+security features' which forced me to manually redownload every single individual song, and applying these 'features' in such a way as to over double the file size, making over half my music now impossible to keep downloaded despite having a 60gb SD card.

Innovation is at the HEART of Big Tech indeed 🙄

Every computer is portable if you're strong enough.
