Have a feel-good story about the rebuilding of a grocery store in Minneapolis in the wake of the Floyd uprising last year.
For those of you not in Minneapolis, North Minneapolis saw some rioting last year. It's a predominantly black area and there were some questions raised about whether or not areas that were damaged would be rebuilt.

I've been working on this lovely lady for a couple of days now. Hopefully I'll finish her by the end of #mermay.
I really struggled to find a good reference image for her, so I kinda fudged some of the bits. Also, I'm just still learning a lot. 😅
I enjoy how refreshing it is to draw characters that aren't all bone and muscle, though. It's like I get to break art rules, and also like I'm still drawing something that's more realistic/relatable than standard "art" body types. It feels like being both rebellious and more technically correct at the same time, which is absolutely an intoxicating feeling. If you haven't, I highly suggest you make some art of unusual human bodies. It's good for representation and also just feels so freeing. :)

So, I'm working on a cursed mashup. I think I'd like to sneak in as much of Smash Mouth's All Star into The Wellerman as possible without changing the tune of The Wellerman.

Today will be warm and also is day of a little DOTA 2 guild bonfire meetup. The humidity is 84%, which is kinda high.
It'll be cool to see guildmates in person. It's wild how much the pandemic changed my social patterns, and I'm looking forward to meeting some of those friends in person for the first time.
But also, 84% humidity and like 85°. We'll be like two blocks from a lake, though. Maybe I'll just bring a swimsuit?

I feel like a lot of people are confusing Pride events with the Folsom street festival. I've never been to a pride where people were any less clothed than being at the beach and in a lot of cases I wondered how people werent fainting because they were wearing SO MUCH.
A lot of the hand wringing about "think of the children!" reminds me forcibly of the mindset that gay people are morally degenerate and just salivating for a chance to expose your child to sex. and i say that as someone who was exposed to sexually explicit kink far, FAR too young but here's the kicker- it was the heteros that did that to me. there's far more sexually explicit content on tiktok and daytime tv than i generally see at Pride.

Sci Fi show where pvp is enabled for billionaires and whoever kills them gets to keep 100 million while the rest gets the distributed.
Main character could be a hunter who forgets to give away money before killing their tenth billionaire.
You think it's trying to humanize billionaires but you realize actually the main character deserves to be hunted because they never cared about helping people just liked the excuse to kill.
