The 2021 Gender Census worldwide report is now published:

Here's a summary/TL;DR:
mh, food, meat, alch, relationship, kink/cbt/lewd joke
I spent today reading in a mild fuge until the early afternoon, then went and split wood with a crush, and then shared steak and merlot with them. Honestly, a pretty good Sunday. The steak could have been better, but I gave them the best cut and they seemed pretty happy with it.
Three hours with an ax, a sledgehammer, a Sawzall, and a chainsaw did me some real good. Plus, there's now a woodpile about the size of a loveseat, and my crush might've learned how to coil cables so they don't tangle.
I would like the world to know that "Wanna come over and split some wood?" is an excellent pickup line to use on Starlesses, but I will probably take you more literally than you were hoping.
re: Fungus doodles, 18+ anime
@Quartz_Movement I think it's because I'll cw'd it for food mention and your instance assumes that people only cw stuff because 18+.
If you're really looking for that intersection, though, episode 5 of the anime Interspecies Reviewers covers profane/sexy fungi.
@deianeira this is very cool! I haven't built any instruments of note, but I do own a few unusual ones. I've been chewing on a re-design for the electronics on an electric midi harp I own.
What kinds of harps did you make?
@f0x missed u.
Good luck finding a balance that works well for you, etc. You're very cool. :>

@pixelflowers@notbird.site @f0x oh, I wish. I should have marked it as a repost when I put it up! Sorry about the confusion!
Semaphor foxes sound amazing, though. That is SO cute!
@haskal lol they're just as much a victim as the core dev team, IMO. The PSF and integrations with non-core functionality is pretty harsh.
Python is a lovely language, but some of the seams between tools can be suboptimal, especially with stuff like this. If you're using a notebook, matplotlib is pretty friendly, IMO, but I'm not sure what your use-case is.
@haskal do you want an actual answer? This is my take, at least:
Matplotlib isn't part of the python language. It's not the python core's team to make that integration seamless. Don't blame the python developers, blame the psf for keeping such a scattered ecosystem/loose packaging system.
@neauoire cursor if it's in text mode, pointer if it's arrow-like. I'm more likely to call out entire actions like 'click on this box' or 'select that text'.
we used orca by @neauoire and composed a bunch of tunes & demo’d them. Starless and Carbide got into a harp / keyboard duel. It was absolute magic. Symys won a little lain with headphones patch 😊
In a few hours, my living room will once again be converted into the makeshift clown gym we use to host the #CircusInPlace video chat.
It's a bit like the calm before a very silly storm.
Pop by starting at 8pm UTC-5 (note the time change!) for a night of conversation, circus tricks, and other shenanigans.
