is anyone on the fedi currently looking to hire a software engineer, for basically any purpose as long as it isn't ai slop or profoundly uninteresting business infrastructure? i have almost two decades of informal experience writing code (self-directed learning) but zero professional work. i've done (and can do) application, server, web front- or backend, embedded, graphics, scripting and automation, mobile, games, and just about any other domain as long as it involves code. if you've heard of a programming language, i'm probably familiar with it. if not, i can teach myself in a few days (most concepts are shared between them). if you need a *new* language, i can do that too. i'm bragging about this because it's the ONE thing i can confidently say i'm An Expert at. but my lack of resume material means no one will give me a chance. very flexible on pay, hours, etc
