I am so sick of being trapped in this cycle where I can’t write the gay books I actually care about. Like I have a whole premise for a sapphic monster lover book where monsters returned and there was a secret war between humanity and the monsters, and to end the war the last descendant of Odysseus, a modern woman named Cassie, has to marry Scylla.

And of course there are humans and monsters that want to resume the war and intrigue and urban fantasy goodness and enemies to lovers between Cassie and Scylla…

But trying to sell a queer book without a large following is damn near impossible. Trust me, I’ve tried. It bombed. While there’s the occasional big name exception, they just get thrown in the face of other queer authors as “see, queer books do sell!!” as a way to silence our very real concerns about how much harder it is on average.

I guess just help me spread the word if this sounds good to you? The more interest there is, the more I can justify allocating time from day job words to write it.
