@elilla the friendly beepy beeper
there was once a thread about reverse culture shock when returning from Japan, and this person said that back to their country they ordered a coffee from an airport vending machine and when the coffee was ready they just stood there. it took them a while to realise they were waiting for the machine to go like "your order is ready to go! thank you for your continued service! hope to see you again" because it felt wrong to just go and take the coffee before the machine even said thank you

@0x4d6165 on a purely emotional level i just have a lot of negative emotions about x86 machines ive used over the years
@0x4d6165 i enjoy the idea of a reduced or smaller instruction set compared to x86, and i also end up poking at a lot of ARM devices in my daily life anyway, low power consumption stuff, etc.
also i hate intel ME and whatever AMDs equivalent is. I personally believe that the end user should be able to have the final say, and that we really do not need a concealed lower layer vulnurable to hijacking and utterly uninspectable to the computer operator. though thats probably not x86s fault moreso intel and amd deciding that its a good idea.
