Well, that's new - some glue spilled over the side when I was gluing together a 3D print a while ago, and it seems to have... stolen the pigment from the plastic???

The glue (after peeling it off) now has a bluish tint, and the plastic has lost some of its color saturation in the exact spot of the glue, and I'm certain that there's no glue left on it

Do you prefer the Nintendo S or the Nintendo S Lite?

fedi meta, ranty, the things I wish I could say

- That news is not "too important for a content warning".
- AI is not a replacement for good alt text.
- Your personal beef should not be a public event.
- An dozen extra hashtags won't help your visibility.
- The numbers don't matter. No, not even those.
- Nazis won't help grow the network, even if they're popular.
- Being weird is not the same as being bad.
- People are complex. You can't (usually) judge someone's entire moral character from just a screenshots.
- Accusations aren't proof, explanations aren't apologies.
- Popular users aren't above moderation.
- The block button is always justified, and no word is too sanctified for a personal mute. No one is entitled to your attention.
- Free speech doesn't apply on social media.

I wish fedi would stop turning into Twitter.

People always say you should put love into everything you do, but when you're making #gravy you absolutely do not want to put love in, it really ruins the consistency. What you REALLY want to add is anxiety. Now, I know it sounds counter-intuitive, but you really can't go wrong; a tiny bit of anxiety makes the gravy really tremble for those who love a bit of movement in their sauce, a medium dollop of anxiety gives it a nice glossy sheen, and a huge scoopful of anxiety makes your gravy just POP.

Okay this is pretty hilarious, a Dutch soda brand (Hero) recalled their apple juice because it contained caffeine

That just sounds like a product idea to me

Free Geek Twin Cities is an incredible resource.

That is all

so from the looks of it, the bots are scraping trending hashtags like #SilentSunday , #RulesToSqueakBy , #MonochromeMonday etc, all of which are filled with gentle civilians posting pretty photos and thoughtful advice. perhaps the most sporting thing to do in the circumstances would be to drive a little-used hashtag to the top of the chart instead

#gravy

AI grifters have turned their attention to scraping mastodon hashtags to generate seo spam blogposts. you know what to do

Mastodonian white-moderate-scold culture is most repugnant when it comes to mutual aid. Black single mother needing help with medical expenses? Report. Palestinian family trying to survive a genocide? Report.

It's the online version of white people calling the cops if they see an Indigenous, Black, or Brown person in "their" street. No discussion, evidence or proof of wrongdoing needed when you've got Privileged White People Gut-feelings

@schratze as the old credo of centrism goes: "I can excuse fascism but i draw the line at being against fascism"

Wow just had a really nice conversation with someone on the train for like 45 minutes

@oldladyplays awww how sweet!! Well I'd just got back from wandering about the mountain hehe, but I was basically gonna say-

Many young people are disillusioned by the promised SA the ANC and Mandela had envisioned.

Mass unemployment. White people still living separately in their fancy estates and beach towns, while now claiming to be victims of white genocide. Ethnic tensions amongst black people and fellow Africans still rampant.

So you know, just products of colonialism and neoliberalism.

@oldladyplays unfortunately from the BBC, but-
"In 1990, Mr Mandela confirmed the intentions of the African National Congress (ANC) - the liberation movement which he led into government in 1994 - to nationalise mines, banks and "monopoly industries".

But following concerns that nationalisation would have a ruinous effect on the economy and to ensure a smooth transition of power, Mr Mandela dropped the policy. "

Let me gather my thoughts and drink water. Will elabora-

Y'all gotta stop quoting Mandela so much, that nigga a sellout bruh 😭 he's like the MLK of Africa bruh, take that as you will.

Good morning everyone. :)

I hope you have a Magnificent Monday.

Always remember, you are loved and your dreams matter.

Today we are gonna be talking about how Hard Disk drives work.

An HDD consists of one or more rigid disk platters, typically made of aluminum or glass. These platters are coated with a magnetic material that allows for data storage. The read/write head, also known as the disk head, is an electromagnet mounted on a movable arm. It can both write data onto the disk by aligning magnetic particles on the platter and read data by detecting the orientation of those particles. The disk platters are spun at high speeds typically between 5,400 and 15,000 revolutions per minute by a spindle motor, allowing for quick data access. Data is stored in concentric circles, called tracks, on the disk platter.
