I mean, given that all intercity trains between Utrecht and Rotterdam use sprinter trains it might be something about this route that is not quite compatible, but still.

I have finally finished my raised beds (aka plant tables)! This isn't the first woodworking project I've finished, but it's the first that I *started*, back in 2020. Plenty of setbacks in health and circumstance delayed the project, but I got there eventually 🙂

Now all that remains is to put some permeable plastic in there to help keep the dirt and roots inside while still allowing drainages between the planks, and filling it with soil and plants!

already in high school I thought this felt backwards—surely the bottom's hole is the clearest analogy to a mouth? and if you don't think a bottom can be all-devouring in their hunger, you haven't met my bottoms.

but of course the metaphor is not about the mechanics of eating, but a predator/prey dynamic, with rape culture undertones. like many other ancient colonisers, the Romans had an association between topping, raping, and conquering, which inherently frames bottoming as an undesirable thing, as if the only way sex ever happen is against the will of the bottom. speaks a lot about Roman civilisation, really.

this romanitas is still well alive in the dregs of the Empire—when I was young it was still a common attitude that you're not a faggot if you fuck faggots, only bottoming is disgraceful. and even though "foder" is now more general in a sexual context, it still carries the Roman sense of "bad thing for the recipient", just like English "I'm fucked".
