I have finally finished my raised beds (aka plant tables)! This isn't the first woodworking project I've finished, but it's the first that I *started*, back in 2020. Plenty of setbacks in health and circumstance delayed the project, but I got there eventually 🙂
Now all that remains is to put some permeable plastic in there to help keep the dirt and roots inside while still allowing drainages between the planks, and filling it with soil and plants!
it's perfectly reasonable for capitalists to be arguing for AI-driven software. "reducing labor costs" is the thing capitalists do. but being an AI stan as a worker is some serious class traitor shit. this isn't gonna advance your career, buddy.
sitting with the AI apologist take of "you may like the craft of traditional japanese hand woodworking but it's not what will make a profit anymore, so save that for your hobby"… the thing is, old-school joinery produces higher-quality products and uses less (& more sustainable) materials. The reason it's "not profitable" is that the labor is more specialized and expensive. So what they're saying is "I want to get paid less to make worse software".
Rechts beleid jaagt bedrijven weg.

@joepie91 also "human nature"
I hate that people will "rescue" a wild animal and then just kind of adopt it as a pet. The cute videos of "woman rescues owl" or some nonsense always bother me because they encourage bad behavior, especially from colonizers who wanted an excuse to keep a protected animal as a pet anyway.
If you encounter a baby animal that is not doing well, it is your responsibility to locate a certified wild life rescuer in your area and follow their instructions for either bringing the animal to that rescuer, or preferably, keeping the animal safe till they can come and get the animal themselves.
Stop stealing wild animals. They're not yours :angry_heart:
tfw the trespass backpack it bought like a few months ago is already wearing through in places
any recommendations for getting a medium-size backpack (35-40l probably, something it can have for everyday use) that is actually built tough and gonna last? Would be nice to have something with MOLLE or similar webbing for attaching extra pouches and such.
(it is aware that there is tons and tons of military style "assault pack" backpacks which would fit this but it is not sure which are properly good)
Interesting. Increasing the taxes on the super rich has not been shown to increase their relocation to other countries.
politics
being a leftist from a post-soviet country on the internet is tiring.
you get shit like americans that stroke their hog off to your oppressor and even wish that russia invaded usa to "fix and denazify everything" and refuse to listen to people like you
you also get shit from your peers who despite knowing you're anarchist think you want to bring ussr back
tired, boss. so tired
(Also it seemed like the circus infrastructure was cobbled together from a mix of old second-hand stuff and brand new equipment? It made for a pretty homey feel)
What I found really interesting about this circus, is that many of the performers were clearly pushing the limits of their abilities.
You could see them struggle sometimes, and one of the (balancing) acts needed a retry because it failed once. About which the audience was really supportive, and cheered on the performer even more the second time around!
And honestly, I actually prefer that over the kind of performance where everything looks easy and flawless, because it makes you more aware that these are actual, real people who have put in real work to get where they are, and it isn't just some spontaneously acquired skill.
I recently started taking transdermal oestradiol gel (specifically Oestrogel) which comes in a bottle with a pump!
The instructions say the pump always dispenses 1.25 g of gel, so I was curious as to how it managed to be precise. One x-ray later and it turns out it's not really any more complicated than a soap dispenser; it even has air bubbles inside the gel reservoir, which is a bit disappointing.
Thursday I met another trans friend for coffee and catching up when a customer at the shop did a transphobia, angrily yelling slurs at us.
The staff was quick on it, kicking him out, banning him, sharing security camera footage of him with the other employees to make sure he didn’t return on a different shift, and apologizing. Thank you, staff.
Another customer got up to stand near us in case things got worse. Thank you, random dude.
This is how you ally. With actions. Thank you, allies.
Just got back from the circus that's in town: https://www.magicalworldofcircus.com/
It was quite good! I was kind of surprised at how good it was, given how cheap the tickets were... I'm not really sure how they're making this work financially, to be completely honest
being chronically ill sucks because when stuff goes wrong you never know if this is just normal "everything sucks" or new "everything sucks"

Sometimes horny on main (behind CW), very much into kink (bondage, freeuse, CNC, and other stuff), and believe it or not, very much a submissive bottom :p
Feel free to flirt, but if you want to actually meet up and/or do something with me, lewd or otherwise, please tell me explicitly or I won't realize :) I'm generally very open to that sort of thing!
Further boundaries: boosts are OK (including for lewd posts), DMs are open. But the devil doesn't need an advocate; I'm not interested in combative arguing in my mentions. I am however happy to explain things in-depth when asked non-combatively.
