People obsess about making sure that trains are full. Talk about moving warm air around during quieter periods of the day. Yet noone seems to point out the main competitor to rail travel involves traveling with a pair of arm chairs and a sofa, with a total number of passengers of 1. The inefficiencies of private cars are ridiculous.

As long as the whole train network, across the whole year and all services is >20% occupancy, it's more efficient than the competition.

The world in which people have to be profitable to earn to live is inherently evil.

People who make it this way have names and addresses and it is our moral duty to fix that so they would no longer have them.

We're 2.5 years into this gold rush, and I still haven't seen any gold. I've seen people selling picks & shovels. I've seen "gold experts" selling maps to the gold. I've seen CEOs announce they're going "gold-first". I've seen people selling land where they claim there's gold. But no actual gold.

y'know when you want to implement switch debouncing, and every single time you realise you haven't got a clue what the bouncing actually looks like and end up just fudging the numbers until stuff seems to mostly work as intended?

well here's some actual data! I took a bunch of different switches I had laying around and measured their bouncing behaviour, during both close and open.

Er zijn al verschillende mensen die gezegd hebben “moet je je nu wel zo duidelijk uitspreken en dan op een account wat gelinkt is aan je bedrijf nog wel? Je wil toch misschien nog zaken doen met de overheid, wordt dan dan niet moeilijk zo?”

Nou, ik moet dat zeker! Wat is onze rechtsstaat waard als we miljoenen burgers laten uithongeren (laten creperen, dood laten gaan) door een regime wat de resoluties van de Verenigde Naties aan de laars lapt en wat alle mensenrechten (die we zo mooi in een Europees verdrag hebben vastgelegd) schend?

Als dat negatief uitwerkt op mijn kansen om zaken te doen met de overheid, moet ik dat dan nog wel willen?

Ik ga er van uit dat het ambtenaren apparaat ten minste een poging doet om zich aan de wet te houden en dat vrijwel alle ambtenaren het zelfs roerend met me eens zijn. Wat is die eed immers anders waard?

Het is tijd dat meer mensen zich duidelijk uitspreken tegen deze genocide! En dat we er morgen, nee vandaag nog een einde aan proberen te maken, met alles wat we hebben en kunnen. Anders heeft die herdenking morgen ook geen waarde.

Yo, by suggesting Rowling is secretly trans you’re essentially absolving cis people of guilt and the responsibility to do something about her hatred. It frames oppression as the problem of the oppressed group itself, an internal problem with self-hate rather than the majority group hurting the minority. She’s not trans, Hitler wasn’t secretly jewish, let it go. When people say they’re bigots just take their word for it and not find them an excuse.
