I do think LLMs capture the zeitgeist in one way: that we’re all supposed to just accept that things are a bit shite all the time, in tech and otherwise. That it’s just how things are & we shouldn’t expect better. Shut up, accept the slop, things getting worse, the enshittification. It’s just the way things are.
No, piss off. Things can be better, we’ve done it before. Just because some people can’t or won’t remember, doesn’t mean we all have to accept their low standards.
@HeavenlyPossum A thing some folks have a hard time grasping is that
A stateless society does not have to be a not-organized society.
You can still have services, still have societal stability and still have security against the much feared feudal warlords and what have you.
Because assuming people stop existing and organizing the moment the state ceases to exist is actually silly.

Entirely unsurprisingly, the user in question was on infosec.exchange
@HeavenlyPossum @junglecat_rant Even in a not-anarchist left-wing antiauthoritarian context, horizontality is generally speaking a good thing.
Instead of power being held at the top of a vertical hierarchy, it would be distributed widely closer to those whom are most directly affected by political decisions.
Anarchism just takes this idea one step further, to rid the hierarchy of the state in its entirety.
This is the opposite idea of empowering a few power hoarding masters.
Turns out the reason why my tap water has been tasting like dirt is that it’s been tasting of dirt
I think I have enough planting boxes for now. Probably.
I'm still kind of surprised to find locally-manufactured(!), 100%-recycled-plastic planting boxes at a discount store for this little money. Apparently it *is* financially possible after all.

Sometimes horny on main (behind CW), very much into kink (bondage, freeuse, CNC, and other stuff), and believe it or not, very much a submissive bottom :p
My spoons are limited, so I may not always have the energy to respond to messages.
Strong views about abolishing oppression, hierarchy, agency, and self-governance - but I also trust people by default and give them room to grow, unless they give me reason not to. That all also applies to technology and how it's built.
