In case you thought I was clever

🦝 So I figure "Wow, each one of these solenoids is kinda expensive, but I'm right clever, bet I can get more zones with fewer solenoids using some kinda fancy maths and a clever arrangement of pipes."

A matrix! Yaknow, like how Williams used a lamp matrix in their games? Six transistors could supply nine bulbs - you'd have 3 transistors switching power, and 3 switching ground, and to turn on one bulb you'd turn on its power and ground transistors, one to let the electrons in and one to let them back out again.

🐰 you mean you were drawing up a plan to have one coil to let the water into the vegetables AND ANOTHER ONE TO LET IT COME BACK INTO THE PIPE

🦝 YEAH 'CAUSE IT'S GOTTA COME BACK TO MAKE A CIRCUIT DUH

I realize that it's "just" a pastebin and there are many others of those around the web, but something feels very on-the-nose here about what Mozilla has become over the past years, both in the action and in the phrasing

If you want people in your community to post more nuanced in-depth takes, then banning flippant rhetoric and thought-terminating cliches is a pretty good first step to take.

Because if a flippant response is the only thing you ever get in response to a carefully written argument (and you will; because flippant responses are trivial to write), you're going to stop writing those carefully written arguments very quickly.

This toot inspired by a comment section on a particular website, but applicable in many places.

Hey baking friends, does someone have a tried and true vegan, glutenfree cookie recipe?

Only recipes you tried yourself please, I'm able to google just fine, I want something that's actually reliable.

I find it fascinating how many "no code" startups there are, that are basically just a reincarnation of the now-dead Microsoft Access but with much less flexibility

Okay I have to say that the mandatory ice cream that was added to my order *is* very good

Libraries will get you through times of no money better than money will get you through times of no libraries. - Anne Herbert

@mynameistillian and to any white trans people reading this, this is exactly how racism and other bigotries work too

i'm tired of seeing fellow white trans people realize the dynamics of oppression with regards to being trans but completely fail to expand that revelation to other groups

we all need to be aware of this stuff, because we can only face it with a unified front

LLM crawlers are aggressively destroying important community infrastructures but sadly there is not an easy fix. Still: Blocking those crawlers should be high on your list of todos

(EDIT: You do not need to link me to nepenthes, etc. I am aware of those as is sourcehut)

(Original title: LLM crawlers continue to DDoS SourceHut)

complete shot in the dark, but if you have any of the following:

a dead phat xbox 360 console, revisions Xenon through Jasper (NOT Tonasket/Jasper_B/Kronos (they are all the same thing))
their associated rf boards (Argon, as well as RF01, NOT RF02/xFreedom)
any forbidden knowledge whatsoever of the Xbox 360's I2C like protocol for communication to said RF board (or you know a guy) and/or the means to access it directly from a 360 (e.g. a logic analyzer or such likeness) and an RF02/xFreedom RF board

and you certainly have:

a willingness to collude with me on your end (this implies servicable soldering experience, a raspberry pi pico, and a wireless 360 controller. the project is not that hard and actually makes my second soldering project, so don't feel too scared), or a willingness to chuck said RF board from any of these consoles, besides Tonasket at me (i will likely try to pay shipping if you live within any reasonable distance whatsoever, so in the south/southwestern US, but this is much less preferable than having your cooperation for the both of us if you have the required experience and time, i believe. i am broke.)

let me know. i'm trying to implement a fully featured driver for these boards on the RPI Pico, to convert them for usage as a wireless receiver, which is a time old project but regardless absurdly un- or poorly documented (not even pinouts are consistent) and usually using some overkill nonsense like an arduino duo, and while i've got most of it down i have suspicions that RF02 uses a slightly different command set than the rest of the board revisions; particularly with syncing; and this is the only board revision i have, so if you're willing to throw an Argon or RF01 at me, try my driver yourself if you have the time to put it together, or record communications between your Tonasket and RF02, please send me a dm over here so we can work something out

(me trying to understand streamers who regularly collab with eachother) so it's like a polycule

15 is bijna niets.

normally when i come across a PDF which i can't annotate or copy text out from, i solve my problem by finding a different publication of the document .

I cannot find a different version of the document. what do y'all do in this scenario?
