TfL found my lost wallet 3 months after I lost it and now I'm dealing with the hilarity of trying to get it delivered to an address in Northern Ireland and then discovering that (1) this requires a customs declaration THANKS BREXIT and (2) they can't ship credit cards and well yes I do not have an emotional attachment to my cancelled credit cards can you just take those out please but leave the other ones and oh no why is this so complicated

Today I learned https://www.startrekdesignproject.com has high-rez versions of most of the logos to appear on Star Trek. Including some great ones from Lower Decks.
(These are printed in crappy PLA, to be clear, so I'm testing pretty much the worst case in terms of mechanical strength, relying entirely on the design)

So far I have 5 bins stacked on top of each other on my desk, with the topmost bin containing a few heavy boxes of screwdriver and drill bits. The tower still seems perfectly stable! And I'm not seeing any kind of wear or fatigue marks on any of the stacking nets.

Okay, I've seen online shops before that give you free extra products if you go over a certain order total... but I have to say that it's a first to see one that automatically adds them to your cart and *you cannot remove them*

Forget all that passing in special arguments on the command line or config files or any of that. I just want a big knob that controls debug level. If I want more debugging output I turn the knob. Too much, I turn it down.

#AskFedi: Cryptography question: when implementing an encrypted storage system that also deduplicates (ie. the same plaintext data should result in the same ciphertext), is there any reason why the nonce shouldn't also be deterministically derived from the input data?
(I understand the security tradeoffs introduced by having deduplication, I am only asking about whether specifically a deterministic *nonce* introduces any additional issues beyond that)

Hey kids, if you're removing fash stickers or other propaganda, good on you for cleaning up your neighborhood.
Just remember to always use a tool, and wear sturdy work gloves if necessary, because the tools putting that shit up sometimes hide dangerous surprises like razorblades or needles as a way to hurt anyone removing their shit by hand.
