is there a term for the thing where you forgot what something is really called and instead make up a new term that makes sense in context?

Examples:
- "drippy basket" for "dish drying rack"
- "food weapons" for "cutlery/silverware/flatware"
- "cobra chicken" for "Canada goose"

I'm just one man in a sea of eight billion, not a war hero. But some little kid inside me needs it seen: that's how my malignant narcissist parents treated me. I cut my parents off in 2016, three years after they last treated me that way. And it was as soon as I could make it happen. I hope some similar justice happens to the people in charge of america -- that the world goes No Contact.

I hope the entire world order remakes itself into something that destroys the possibility of people like that existing.

I was recently introduced to the concept of “hypernormalization” coined to describe the Soviet Union.

Hypernormalization is when the economic and social system is obviously broken, but instead of fixing it, people just accept it as normal because the truth is too complex or inconvenient to change.

So politicians and citizens alike are resigned to maintaining the pretense of a functioning society.

These tall tales we see of complex apps being generated entirely LLMs, or legacy codebases being ported to new platforms in just a few hours... If they're not accompanied by actual code we can look at, or working software we can test, you can safely conclude it didn't happen.

So far, it never has. Not a single verifiable example.
