I'm going to declare today's almost-vegan meat pastry a success! The only non-vegan ingredient is some cheese

Sauce is made out of vegetable stock/broth cubes immersion-mixed with flour and some peas to thicken, with generous amounts of thyme, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, slight amount of turmeric, coriander, celery, black/white pepper, and a bit of salt. Also a glob of sharp mustard mixed in, as well as a few whole peas.

The remainder of the filling is spinach and cheap minced meat substitute from Lidl, the crumb stuff. Wrapped in fresh vegan pastry dough with some grated cheese added.

Meat substitute and spinach are fried and later added to the sauce and boiled for a bit longer.

Sometimes a like instead of a boost means, ah yes thank you for poisoning my brain but I shan't be encouraging the poisoning of brains of others.

The kids were guessing the ingredients of my stroganoff sauce.

Thinking about salt, I gave them a hint: "It's very small, you can't see it, but it's present in almost all food."

Said the 7yo: "Microplastics!"

re: food (vegetarian), sort of recipe

(I used regular cheese because something about the taste and texture of the vegan cheese options here really bothers me when melted; if that's not a problem for you, this recipe should work fine with vegan cheese, and that would make it entirely vegan!)

Note: 500ml water for 2 stock cubes (yes, that is double the usual density) and 1 package of meat substitute crumbs; serves two

no i don't think billionaires should donate their wealth. i think it should be taken from them. the details of how that gets done aren't particularly important to me either.

Forget about the pomodoro technique, I'm now using the LP technique. The timing matches, and it forces me out of my chair to flip the record or put a new one on. And I've got 10 records to go through from our visit to Göteborg anyway.

annoying ActivityPub fact

Did you know that, similar to Matrix, ActivityPub specifies a Client-Server API? It's funny because it is largely unused. No client or server actually implements it

stale bot but good

Stale bot, but instead of closing the issue it sends a notification to the devs periodically and annoys them until they either fix the issue or they mark it as wontfix

Remember how my previous employer denied my WFH request so that I could flee the state of Ohio to take care of my trans kid while still working for a company I loved?

I just heard they did it to someone else today.

When you insist people come in to an office a few days a week because you want a "hybrid culture" not a "remote culture" and then tell them to just fuck off when all they want to do is get their kid somewhere safe that makes you an absolutely shitty person.

I'm done hiding who it was.

The company is
#OverDrive, based in Cleveland. They make ebook lending software for your local library called #Libby. They say they care about their LGBTQIA+ employees and families but that is clearly a lie.

Ohio lawmakers are turning my home state into absolute garbage and companies like this one are playing along.

Tell your local library to
#DropLibby

I want to see less "this is not possible" and more "what problems do we need to solve to *make* it possible?"
