Cannot overstate the value of regularly delivering working software.
My single most effective software dev habit is to start with a walking skeleton -- a "real" if very stubbed out program that can be deployed on its real infrastructure, receive real calls, visited for real etc. -- because of what this does for non-programming stakeholders.
When they see a real working thing and then they see that thing get meaningful improvements they tend to chill *way* out and get much easier to work with.

positively surprised by PeerTube. I remember the HTML5 video player as being way worse compared to YouTube with regards to buffering, but this works just *great* (and I'm using a crappy DSL connection)

happy side effect: if you approach it this way then its not really about finishing. finishing is hard. you imagine all the stuff you still gotta do before you're finished and it feels impossible
meanwhile it feels way more achievable to just sit down and start working on one task however small. but doing that consistently is what finishing looks like

The problem with "not all cops are bad" is that it means that you don't recognize the power of a fundamentally corrupted and oppressive structure over individuals.
That means that you believe that people's behaviour within those structures is decided by themselves individually, and that makes you vulnerable to "good cop, bad cop" strategies.
And *that* means that I simply cannot trust you not to rat out me or my friends when the rubber meets the road, maybe even without realizing it. That I cannot trust you to have my back when cops come for me.
It doesn't matter how good your intentions are, or that you believe this out of fear for a world without police, or that you think you can separate the good ones from the bad ones.
None of that matters for the simple fact that if you make this choice, I cannot trust you with my safety.
(And when people take issue with you being friendly with cops, *this is why*.)
