Presumably this is for all your passwords stolen from other places.

hello. my name is Unknown Artist. you may remember me from hits such as "Track 01.wav" and "b0bcc2dce2f4ac0a.mp3"

“It turns out talking about diversity, inclusion, and even just basic civil behavior can be controversial in technical spaces. I don’t think it should be, but I don’t get to make the rules. When I’m able I’d much rather spend the time to educate someone about diversity and inclusion issues and see if I can change how they see the world a bit. But I don’t always have the time and energy to do that. And sometimes, even if I did have the time, the person involved doesn’t want to be educated.

This is when I pull out “we don’t do that here.” It is a conversation ender.”

Can’t believe it’s taken me literal years to come across this post but it is brilliant!

OH: they're still occasionally very "we're not going to answer that, it's /clearly/ stated in the subcaption of the image in the bottom corner of section 14, chapter 3.2 of the 2011 edition of the translated Bulgarian manual"

If "AI" is such a benefit to productivity maybe we should just tax all use of it accordingly then? Maybe your corporate OpenAI account should cost an additional few hundred EUR in taxes to help support the workers that system supposedly replaces?

The Archetypical Tech Guy is ultracrepidarian; he thinks that his domain expertise trumps all others (healthcare, culture, commerce, food…) and that there are no complicated problems he cannot solve. Art and literature, therefore, make him angry; he demonstrably cannot create them himself and cannot fool himself into thinking he can. One of the points of art and writing bots is to legitimize the Tech Guy. To cement him as the world’s intellectual leader, its savior even, who knows and improves, and should therefore naturally have a say over, all things.

Do you read people's profile info before you follow them? Please boost for a bigger sample size, because I'm really curious about this

I 'unpublished' my (not .art's) Patreon creator page in August. There's no option to delete (and the guides to 'how to delete your creator page' mention things that don't exist) so you can just unpublish. I, as expected, haven't had any payments from my supporters since doing that.

Old supporter DMed me.

Her: Hi! Are you still creating?
Me: Oh I've moved to Ko-Fi! (link)
Her: Ah! I guess I can delete my plege then?
Me: Sure, but Patreon shouldn't have been taking anything
Her: Er, they have...

If you're an "A.I" desinger or engineer who genuinely believes your work will be or is already "conscious" in a "human-like" way, then the first thing imma need you to do tomorrow is teach it not to cross the picket line 🤷🏾‍♂️

Is there a list of people whose brand is: „I built bad thing for big company and now want to be known for shedding light on bad thing“?

(Maybe it's a journalism thing. The rebirth plot.)

how the extremely open bluesky protocol works, that everyone should freely copy and use:

by running all posts through a proprietary third-party AI moderation service, thehive.ai/

dig this, the nazis are just another kind of content and not people you fucking kick:

Does anyone have recommendations for a search engine that still searches for the thing you actually entered into the field instead of some other shit

btw if anyone is curious about my mastodon + glitchsoc + nixos setup (as I've gotten a few questions the last few days)

Kinda tired of the whole "I made a lot of money building the Torment Nexus but now I quit and am warning you about the Torment Nexus (buy my book)" redemption arch for tech people we seem to have settled on.

There are many different sides to the "Dave Debate"

Should people named Dave exist? Should they have rights? Are they people at all?

I'm not anti-Dave, in fact I am a great supporter of Daves. I just think we need to ask some questions. But if you ask these questions people get so mad.

Shouldn't we at least have a sober reasonable discussion? What's wrong with that?
