There are so many people and institutions I am disgusted with --- basically everyone connected to that heinous thing. Facebook, Discord, Tumblr, and Telegram all directly compromised their users by giving them over to this "study," the IRB at Stony Brook rubber-stamped this atrocity, not to mention the "non-profit" itself.

What in the absolute hell is wrong with people that they think this is even remotely OK?

Does anyone here have any knowledge in laptop BIOS modifications? More specifically for an ASUS TUF laptop. I need a fix for a major issue my laptop has that ASUS themselves will not support.

We should try harder to organize the activists and social movements on other digital platforms, #Mastodon being the first option. There are countries where mainstream media is almost completely controlled by a small group of corrupt elite.People in anti-democratic countries where the rule of law and right to free speech are not respected need to be guided toward alternative platforms as soon as possible. Authoritarian governments will benefit from #Twitter's demise unless we succeed in this.

Zo'n 10 jaar geleden kon ik die dingen nog horen. Ik wist niet wat het was, behalve luid en irritant. Ik belde de politie om te vertellen dat het alarm van het winkelcentrum afging. Zij hoorden niks. We lokaliseerden de bron en de agenten legden me uit wat het apparaatje was. Het concepte wekte weerzin.

De volgende dag heb ik een ladder meegenomen en de draad van het apparaatje doorgeknipt terwijl ik zwaaide naar de beveiligingscamera.
