WIP of some more lowpoly fox 3D prints I created. Soon I will have the gang back together again. :3
Printed on an #Ender3 and painted with acrylics.
They will be again for sale around the end of the year, with optional winter hats. I'm curious about opinions on pricing. I will attach a poll to a followup post, if you want to fill it out. ^.^
#introduction #introductie Hello! I am polyfloyd. Hacker and treasurer of Hackerspace @bitlair in Amersfoort, Netherlands. I like cycling and making luminous shiny things. You may have seen a few of my projects at MCH2022 where I was responsible for some of the decoration.
We’re super excited and grateful you’re all talking about us and recommend us to your friends, it’s super cool.
Important note: we’re still in ALPHA.
We have the bare basics. That’s it. Everything else will come, but it will take time!
The best way to contribute right now, so we can pay additional people on our dev team for their amazing work, is by contributing on Open Collective:
"A point was made recently that celebs probably don't give a shit about local cultural norms. Most comedians in particular make their trade by working against established norms."
This is a good point.
We're going to need to push back hard against this kind of antisocial behaviour by celebrities and comedians, to keep the Fedi a nice place to be
@joepie91 I'm trying to help you and my distance to the recursion factory keeps halving but I think I'll never really get there.
I keep seeing people say Mastodon is nothing like Twitter. And they’re right.
Mastodon is an echo of the old internet, it’s decentralised, chaotic. What you get depends on your sysadmin. You can’t search, everything has to be shared to you by a human. Networks split apart and rejoin. What you see is your unique connection to it.
Is this good? Maybe. But for me that’s the internet I grew up with. No algorithms, no targeted adverts, just human interaction, and it was glorious.
*blows dust off account* oh, hello there.
Here's a TIC-80 thing I live-coded this weekend for the Inercia demoparty byte jam... https://tic80.com/play?cart=3057
Remember: There will never be consensus on the "correct" behavior on Mastodon, especially because (a) Mastodon is only one piece of software used on the Fediverse, (b) there are many, many different Mastodon instances each with their own cultures, and (c) norms evolve constantly, even within the same instance. Not to mention many other factors.
My suggestions? Among other things:
1. Err towards using content warnings
2. Check your privilege (like, uncomfortable introspection on how your privilege tints your views and others' views of you)
3. Before replying, check the other replies. The question may have been answered, the sarcastic nature may become obvious, etc.
4. When confused, consider shrugging and moving on. You might be the fiftieth person to bug the original poster over their pooptoot that day
5. Drink water, have a snack, take breaks! The Fediverse will be here tomorrow but flashes of anger will pass
Emphasis on #2! Remember that marginalized people have to put up with much more shit and need support (or at least to be left alone) far more than they need yet another well-meaning but fumbling person overwhelming their notifications. And if you're marginalized, please take all this advice with a grain of salt. Righteous anger is righteous.
Hope these tips help!
Voelt echt als de zoveelste poging, maar heeft iemand tips voor queer folx die ik hier kan volgen? Of als je queer bent, laat 't me weten! (Als je dat wil.) 🏳️🌈
Zouden mensen dit ook kunnen boosten?
(Noot: die Metatext appt werkt niet altijd even goed bij me, dus als ik niet meteen reageer, dan komt het daardoor.)
Hey #mastoadmins,
in these times of tons of stress on your servers and yourselves, please make sure you take enough breaks.
People can live without their social media for a few hours. But you can't live without enough rest.
Take care of yourselves. Eat, drink and sleep enough. And don't forget to go outside every now and then, getting your head out of the Mastodon world.
Sincerely,
Sheogorath
Do you remember Switter? Should we? It became the 3rd biggest Mastodon instance in the fediverse and a lifesaving refuge for sex workers around the world. It was shut down despite much effort against harmful anti-sex and anti-LGBTQIA+ legislation and policy, which remains a threat over many of us.

- Flirting welcome, but be explicit if you want something out of it!
- The devil doesn't need an advocate; no combative arguing in my mentions.
Sometimes horny on main (behind CW), very much into kink (bondage, freeuse, CNC, and other stuff), and believe it or not, very much a submissive bottom :p
My spoons are limited, so I may not always have the energy to respond to messages.
Strong views about abolishing oppression, hierarchy, agency, and self-governance - but I also trust people by default and give them room to grow, unless they give me reason not to. That all also applies to technology and how it's built.
