There's something kind of hilarious about calling the current software security practices "outdated" and then arguing for a return to the known-broken processes (like origin-based security assurances) that organizations have been trying to move away from for the past two decades...
But then it's entirely on-brand for fascists to try and market old, failed ideas as if they are some kind of novel innovation, isn't it
workshop specifically for cis people to “discover their gender”
workshop consists of reflections on questions such as:
- how would you describe your gender?
- what makes you feel that way?
- what attributes are prescribed to your gender, and how do you (or do you not) align with those?
- how about those around you?
- how do others perceive your gender?
- how would you change how others perceive your gender?
everyone knows trans people exist but they consider their gender separately to trans people and innate to themselves. put a stop to it.

@joepie91 Must have added support for intercalary months, maybe they expect business billing to move to a lunisolar calendar in the near future.
I was asked by a 20 year younger friend how my internet was back then. I needed a moment but then I told her the story of an IRC channel and how we made the day for a young girl who happened to be on our IRC channel. Because this is what my internet was like back then and I wish sometimes it still was like this. Let me tell the story:
I was 25, the channel members were like 20 to 30 years old. Somehow this young girl found her way to us. She was 14 when she joined the channel. >>
Hello, Lovely Peeps! 👋
I have a fun, gentle project for you! 😊
For anyone interested, below is the link to "One Minute Park" where you can see one minute of a park from various places in the world & can contribute your own.
THIS IS NOT A WEBCAM - this is a one-minute video, shot by someone there & uploaded.
Eventually they hope to have enough (1440) to fill an entire day. So far they have 219. 👍
#Japan, #UK, #Italy, #Brazil, #USA, #France, #China, #Slovenia, #Australia, #Finland, #Belgium, #Scotland, #Germany, #NewZealand, #Thailand & more are all represented.
(The location of the park is in small print in white in the lower right corner, sound, browse & info buttons are in white in the lower left corner. (They can be hard to see.))
(from website)
How to make a One Minute Park
Walk around a park until you find a composition. Your scene should be filled with many layers of activity without any dominating elements.
Record in landscape mode on your phone. Keep your shot as steady as you can but don't use a tripod. You could even hold your breath. Check the timecode indicator while filming to make your video exactly 60 seconds. Tap record, let it count up to 60, and tap again. No editing needed!
Upload your One Minute Park to this Are.na channel. Videos should be in .mp4 format. Please include the date, time, park, location in the block's title.
I'm looking forward to this! 🤩
“This is not an apolitical project. There is no such thing as an apolitical project, only a project that does not acknowledge its politics.”
@phire’s ‘Manifesto for the Toronto That Could Be’, related to her new ’Show Up Toronto’ site, is so good ↓
The original seed of this project actually came from a question I asked on Fedi a few months ago, which is: where is leftist organizing happening in Canada? I've spent a lot of time talking to people since trying to answer that question, and while this isn't the answer to that question yet, I figured if I was having trouble finding things other people probably would be too and we should find out together.
Hi pals, I'm launching a new project today called Show Up Toronto!! It's a website and weekly newsletter that aggregates organizing/advocacy/direct action events in the city so you can find out how to get involved without having to be on Facebook/Instagram. First email goes out tomorrow, sign up and tell your friends https://showuptoronto.ca
Some of what he is experiencing is clearly racism. BIPOC people who mask clearly have a much worse experience here. Talking to him made me feel like we need a union of mask wearers, that advocates for our rights. Absolutely enraging.
I talked to an experienced Uber driver today (31k trips) who masks and he said he gets non-stop hassled by his peers, customers and other people who tell him to take it off. He gets negative reports and even got suspended for four days when some customers tried to allege he was inappropriate.
All because he wears a mask.

What you say: "Well, during the nazi occupation, people were forced into cooperating with the nazis, so you can't really hold those people responsible, because you don't really have a choice when they're at your door."
What I hear: You cannot be trusted with my (and our) safety under adverse conditions.
As Autumn BlackDeer would say, white colonial logic works under the axiom: “the more distant, the more objective”. Hence we automate processes in the industry, in police and justice, in the military… Objectivity, as a moral distant, context detached narrative, has always been our white colonial (scientific) language to legitimate human cruelty towards the recipients of automation (enslaved, incarcerated and stigmatized peoples) and to compartmentalize and minimize our responsibility.
In the process of moving to @joepie91. This account will stay active for the foreseeable future! But please also follow the other one.

Strong views about abolishing oppression, hierarchy, agency, and self-governance - but I also trust people by default and give them room to grow, unless they give me reason not to. That all also applies to technology and how it's built.
