Reminder that nothing is dumb or stupid. Those words don't even mean anything. Try to think harder about what you actually mean by that. Do you mean it was chaotic? Do you mean that you think it will hurt an objective of yours? Do you think it will also hurt the perceived objectives of your enemies so you don't understand why they would do that?

Keep in mind, if something the alt-right does seems "dumb" it's because they have different objectives than you. They don't want peace on earth, or even like... peace in your small town. They want a race war at all costs, legitimately. They want to exterminate queer people, no hyperbole. They want women silent and in the kitchen, full stop.

Example: If they cut off a state from accessing healthcare, and it will lead to the deaths of white people, particularly poor white women, so you are upset and call it dumb, because it will affect them too (leading to many preventable deaths), you need to realize that it's not dumb to the right.

Poor people not being able the access healthcare, including poor white women, is a worthy price to pay to ensure that Black people and queer people don't access it. They calculated that risk and found it acceptable. They don't think its dumb, and calling it so, doesn't do anything.

Call it what it is: "That's fascist."

At least then, you'll be starting the conversation where it ought to be, "why are fascists running my [city/county/state/country]?" Don't be afraid to use the word fascist. Make the alt-right defend why they're not like Hitler. Move the goal post on them. Don't let them manipulate the conversation by using a useless phrase like "that's stupid".

If you are trying to delete your 23andMe data and get an obnoxious reply asking for ID, tell them no, that's what your password is for, and they will do it. New in GNOME 48 is the necessary support for keyboard handling by the Orca screen reader in Wayland sessions. As I reported on the Orca mailing list recently, I have updated my system, and this support is so far working as intended. You need Mutter 48 and the latest AT-SPI installed.

Had a little concrete left and some yellow paint.

I have a few regular social zoom meetings, some of which have been going semi-regularly since the pandemic and I have to say that being social over zoom is so much easier than IRL:

- Control the volume of the conversation
- Don't have to look anybody in the eye
- You can have something else on the screen
- Fidget however much you want without complaints
- You can mute yourself or turn off the camera without actually having to manage the noise you make or how you look
