The subject is not whether we accomplish anarchism today, tomorrow, or within ten centuries, but that we walk towards anarchism today, tomorrow, and always.

subtoot, ableism
It's very unfortunate when someone makes a good point in principle, about "posting the right things online" not being effective activism in and of itself...
... and then for whatever reason feels the need to extrapolate that to "the only valid form of activism is if you put your body in front of cops", which is not only ignorant to diversity of tactics and supporting care work, but also ableist as fuck.
Speaking of which, it's very easy to make your own liquid soap from a bar of soap. You literally just crush/shave/whatever the bar of soap, and drop it into a big pot of boiling water and let it boil for a while. Ta-da, liquid soap.
Exact ratio may vary by soap, I don't remember the rule of thumb but it should be pretty easy to find.
The consistency will be less nice than commercial liquid soap, but if you can only find biodegradable soap in bar form, this is one way to turn it liquid, and it does in fact work with standard liquid soap dispensers.
(Do keep in mind that you will need to wash the pot thoroughly after use. I'd recommend doing this stuff in batches so that you only have to clean it once for a big supply.)
uspol good news
PSA: When liquid soap (including body wash, shampoo, shower gel, ...) says it's "99% biodegradable", that is meaningless greenwashing.
Liquid soaps are mostly water by volume, so *all* of them hit high percentages here, whether they advertise it or not. The problem is the 1% of additives, which are often plastics.
If you want something that is environmentally better than average, you need to look for *100%* biodegradable soaps.
Remember that joke in Shrek 2 with a Starbucks getting destroyed and all the clients fleeing into another Starbucks across the street?
Well, #Poland does the same with żabka shops
("Little frog", equivalent to a 7/11 or something like that)
There is now a mask bloc of 4000 cool black FFP2 masks in #Utrecht to be distributed further, feel free to contact me if you want any for personal use, your space or events. More are available in other cities including Rotterdam and Amsterdam. #MaskBloc #CovidIsNotOver #MaskUp #MutualAid
So my learning about PCB dry photoresist culminates in the following body of knowledge which I shall share with you:
* All dry film photoresist are more or less equal (all of 'em made in China anyway) and they still are a PITA to apply to medium-large boards.
* You ABSOLUTELY need vacuum, to get the air out between the film and the resist during exposure
* The angle of the incident light is quite critical, if the light is too close, the exposure is blown out, too far away and the same happens.
* Bug zapper tubes need to be driven with DC, and hard, to generate sufficient UV spectrum. They do not emit as much UV on AC. Yes they won't last very long but that's a small price to pay for the best exposures you'll ever do at home, short of spending a shit ton of money for an entry level exposure unit.
What I want: Really nice, pretty digital paintings that are suitable for both phone and desktop wallpapers
preferably a set of pictures that can be used as a "work focus", "personal focus", "evening focus", "night focus" set of wallpapers for my phone
honestly i think it's really funny and good and joyous that the sloth being an annoying little shit actually gets stuff changed for the better
https://github.com/bluesky-social/atproto/issues/3504
context: GoToSocial has always returned the 418 I'm A Teapot joke HTTP code to all requests that try to connect to it without giving a User-Agent, cuz (our reasoning at the time was that) if they're being rude with us we can be a bit cheeky back to them, it's all fun + games
As a direct result of that, some Bluesky component we've never interacted with or thought about now includes a User-Agent header so you can see in your logs who's fetching your shit (and block it if you want): https://github.com/bluesky-social/atproto/pull/3450
Anyway if you want to block the app view user-agent it's BskyAppView according to the bsky code.
uspol, about trump deporting immigrant farmers
this reminds me of my grandfather's friend who served time in gulag. by the time they were done with him he no longer had any arms.
uspol, about trump deporting immigrant farmers
i am not posting this for doom and gloom but i think yall have to know what we're up against.
i found out about the whole wellness camps/farms thing over discord server call with my western friends, and when i heard that, as someone who grew up around the ghosts of our violent soviet past, this is the first memory my mind latched onto.
this directly ties into how prison labor is still legal in the usa, and is practically a form of slavery
uspol, about trump deporting immigrant farmers
however, i have a hard time believing this will be unnoticed. it is not good for business, after all, to let the shelves gather dust.
so they're going to have to find an alternative workforce.
how, exactly?
well...have you read the news about how they want to put disabled and neurodivergent folks into "wellness farms" to "make america healthy again"?
you already know where this is going
uspol, about trump deporting immigrant farmers
here's a thing i can tell you. back a few months ago, russia doubled down on its white supremacy and started actively deporting central asian immigrants from its territory. most of those people worked as cab drivers, store staff, agricultural workers and so on.
when that happened, supply chains disrupted, as well as transportation. shelves were often empty in stores.
i expect the same happen in the so called usa soon.
🟢CALL TO ACTION re: Sam Nordquist
After publishing an article about Sam Nordquist titled "Trans Man Killed in New York Was Tortured for More Than a Month, Police Say" the transphobic New York Times has changed the headline to read "Person Killed in New York Was Tortured for More Than a Month, Police Say"
This is a craven act of trans erasure and is spreading misinformation by burying important details of the murder. If the New York Times wishes to call itself "factual journalism" it should change the headline back.
I am calling on everyone to email the New York Times's factual corrections address to demand they correct the headline.
