health, positive...? sort of?
Judging from said doctor's puzzled look, they did not expect it either
"COVID is not a cold, it's a car accident. It spreads throughout the body, impacting many different organ systems... It's not unusual to get into a car accident and be just fine, but a lifestyle that involves getting into a car accident once a year comes with a reduced life expectancy." I'm about to finish an audit of 42 webcomponents. The devs did a great job because pretty much none of them had detectable issues in axe. Still, only 8 of these 42 components have no critical issues. I only discovered those bugs through manual testing.
Long story short: automatic accessibility testing is only the first step. Manual testing is a must. Also, hire an accessibility expert if possible.
hospital tech
Found a bug in the hospital check-in system; checked in for one appointment and it apparently also automatically checked me in for a *different* appointment later in the day at the same location (this is not supposed to happen), so I was having my lunch break while the people there were wondering why I was nowhere to be found despite 'checking in early'
Getting #GodotEngine oiled up to the state it is now, where development speed is so incredibly fast and there is such good harmony with foundation, contributions and community took many many, _many_ years of refining processes for development, contribution, release management, moderation, etc.
I will do a talk about it at GodotCon in a week explaining parts of this process!
Pressing the fork button takes a second. Learning to do what we do takes a tiny bit more 😞.
So you know how I made a demo at @demoparty_no for a monitor that got damaged in transit in a bag pocket without adequate protection, causing it to produce interesting glitchy colours?
Well, it appears I put the certificate for it in a bag pocket without adequate protection, and… yeah.
I came out as trans very late, in my late forties, and for various reasons have not medically transitioned. Yet I think about it a lot. I am tall (183 cm) have really broad shoulders, and basically have the kind of body cisgender dudes and maybe trans masc guys consider ideal. I am nearly sixty, but thinking about HRT, facial feminization surgery, and top surgery. So this is a question for trans women who start medically transitioning in their sixties (or later!). How has it been, and is it worth it? I would be grateful if you could share your experiences with me. Also feel free to respond if you are a trans woman 60 or older who has not medically transitioned and have thoughts on the subject. #transgender #hrt #trans
Frankie Bontemps, a second generation Chagossian in the UK, told the BBC that he felt “betrayed” and “angry” at the news because “Chagossians have never been involved” in the negotiations.
“We remain powerless and voiceless in determining our own future and the future of our homeland”, he said, and called for the full inclusion of Chagossians in drafting the treaty.
Wikipedia now needs to have a "WikiProject AI Cleanup". They should send Sam Altman a massive bill for all their extra, unnecessary work.
I wouldn't be surprised if, on balance, cleaning up after Generative AI produced more cost than using Generative AI ever saved. Unfortunately, probably not for the same people.

> This is something that is hardwired into the technology. The more unusual a cultural feature is, the less likely it is to feature prominently in a large model’s representation of the culture.
Turns out that declarative containers are implemented as a pile of bash: https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/blob/635c7ea3298176e57716e88ed3d820ce66766c91/nixos/modules/virtualisation/nixos-containers.nix
Which, in hindsight, I should've seen coming.
resources for how to be successful as a gamedev always say shit like
- don't forget to do any marketing! (contact press and video creators)
- don't forget to put up a steam page to have wishlists
- don't leave your trailer and contacting trailer editors til the last week
and like yeah if you make those kinds of mistakes you will almost certainly not be successful but this is less a roadmap for success and more "how to not ruin your chances before you even get started"

Sometimes horny on main (behind CW), very much into kink (bondage, freeuse, CNC, and other stuff), and believe it or not, very much a submissive bottom :p

Strong views about abolishing oppression, hierarchy, agency, and self-governance - but I also trust people by default and give them room to grow, unless they give me reason not to. That all also applies to technology and how it's built.
