Tijdens een verjaardagfeest zagen we een andere manier om stickers te gebruiken. Een bekende van ons kreeg een cadeau ingepakt met rood-zwart plakband. Toen de jarige vroeg, waar de persoon zo zulk mooi plakband vandaan kwam, bleek het in stukjes geknipte stickers te zijn. De gene die het cadeautje gaf kon de plakband niet vinden.
Niet helemaal waar stickers voor bedoelt zijn. Al deed het ons denken, aan iets wat we deden bij de lokale ABC. Daar verknipte we stickers om die weer op kaarten te plakken en opstuurde naar gevangen.
Een mede activist van ons gebruikt stickers als boodschappenlijstje. Op de achterkant schrijft hij wat hij moet halen. Als hij alles heeft, plakt ie de sticker in de buurt van de winkel.
I doubt this solution will ever make it into the Matrix protocol, to be clear. I gave up on the MSC process a while ago. But I'll definitely be working on it for #Atoki.

The official word from the #nixos foundation in today's live Q&A session is (paraphrased) "oh there's always someone who's going to object to something so we don't want to make any decisions regarding ethics".
What a fucking cop out. And what an insult to the community. Imagine thinking this is an appropriate response to 128 contributors signing an open letter within 24h condemning an ethical decision that you've made.
Curiously, it looks like this problem can be solved with basically the same mechanism as the Spaces access control replication MSC that I wrote a while ago
Huh, I think I might have found a solution for the problem in Matrix where 'roles' are really difficult to implement because they break orderability assumptions in the stateres protocol

All 10 Irish bands listed as official Republic Of Ireland showcase artists at this year’s SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas have cancelled their participation after news that the US Army was listed as a festival “Featured Partner”, along with and defence companies RTX (formally Raytheon), Collins Aerospace, and BAE Systems.
The wave of cancelations include 70 additional bands from countries other than Ireland.

In de politiek wordt nu een frame voorgehouden dat het 'demonstratierecht' zich in de afgelopen jaren ontwikkeld zou hebben. Dat is dikke onzin. Het recht is niet wezenlijk veranderd, behalve dat de burgemeesters vaker misbruik maken van hun bevoegdheden om demonstraties te onderdrukken. Wat veranderd is, is dat burgers hun recht om te demonstreren vaker gebruiken.
