Felt like a big 'ol rugpull. And what of phones that got abandoned by their manufacturer? Custom ROMs trip SafetyNet. Not so bad when it was only things like Android Pay, but then Google opened up the SafetyNet check to *EVERY* dev to use, and then you had a bunch of apps doing SNet checks for no real good reason other than as a total middle finger for those of us rolling third party ROMs/have our phones deeply customized.

A convo in a group chat reminded me to touch on something: Why I fell out hard with Android.
I was with Android from the very beginning. Android felt built for enthusiast users who wanted to play around. You could ignore that aspect if you so wished but it was nice for those of us who liked to play around.
...until Google decided to unleash the blight that is SafetyNet upon us, and let slip the biggest "fuck you" to those of us here from the very beginning.

Proton Mail does not care about blind people. Straight up.
Which does not make them all that unusual, but it is striking. Especially given their posture on the importance of everyone using <strike>their</strike> private, secure email.
Almost as if it's all a *gasp!* marketing ploy.
LOLOL
Yet another mandatory upgrade of the Proton mail bridge, yet they still can't get the thumb out of the sphincter to add even a modicum of #accessibility.
Like, I don't know, labeling their controls. Or, making the password field, the entire point of the app, focusable so that I can f*cking read it and use my email.
Oh well!
And yes, I've sent them emails. Dozens, actually. As have several others. They do not care.

@joepie91 @SIDN
I really appreciate this video series: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLIu1bD2jA4JMSJrieBJhqNC4owQxTVjfT
It's like those post-mortem analyses put out by work safety authorities, but specific to theme park ride accidents, without any of the sensationalism and with a lot of in-depth technical research.
(The newer videos clearly signpost upfront whether there will be accident footage/simulations, and at what timestamps; I don't remember whether that is also the case for older videos)
@joepie91 gosh I really love watching disaster analysis videos in general. wtyp, plainly difficult...

Status update over voortdurende covid19-pandemie.
- rioolwaarden minder gepubliceerd
- NICE stopt met publicatie zh-opnames
- coronadashboard gaat stoppen
- geen mogelijkheid meer om boostervaccin te krijgen
Men wil dat u covid vergeet, u moet blijven werken & consumeren!
Ok this might be contradictory, but are the any FOSS offline / self hosted music players / libraries that can do decent algorithmic radios like spotify?
We often just want "more like this" without having to make and maintain many playlists
Thanks
