and that if people were forced to see any issue to any people on the globe as an issue to everyone, everywhere, maybe it'd be a good thing
instead of just keeping out the people who have it worse somewhere else, you'd have to actually make it acceptable to… be that somewhere else? that improving living conditions across the world would now become a priority?
that the zero sum game of us becoming better and them becoming worse is actually incredibly fucked up, and maybe we should just, not do that?

I keep failing to come up with the words for how painful it is to not be with my partner due to immigration BS, and the thing that has become abundantly clear throughout the other thing is that advocating for open borders has so many ripple effects that would affect so many other things, for the better, that it's one of the things that we should be advocating for that no one really talks about

Ann Summers should not sell rope. They target a curious vanilla audience, people who will be rope newbies, yet they sell rope that is of incredibly poor quality, and do not stock shears or any other safety equipment. When they sell rope they do not give you any associated safety information, any warnings, even any "use responsibly". Nothing.
When I bought rope from anatomie, a shop targeting their products very much at experienced riggers, they bundled an information sheet about rope care, and an information sheet about nerve damage. Their website recommended I buy safety shears with my purchase and gave me a direct link to do so if I did not already have any. This is good.
Yet when Ann Summers sell rope to somebody who is likely a complete beginner, they do no such thing. This is ridiculously irresponsible.
