@futurebird There's also a nesting/nostalgia element to it. Objects you've mended and repaired become familiar and loved. In a disposable culture, your possessions are constantly changing, as if you're adrift in a sea of materialism. There's something lovely about the well known and well worn object.
For me, right to to repair isn't just about ewaste, and preventing corporate gouging.
It's about mental health. Being able to fix your gadgets is therapeutic. Empowering. Good for the soul.
In a world full of complex technology it's easy to feel small and helpless. And maybe I'm too much of an idealist, but I think that if everyone could experience the joy of fixing or modifying a gadget now and then we'd all be a little more open minded, a little more daring. A little harder to push around.
Or perhaps you are a better shitposter - in which case you can help us make the news of this fork reach more people!
Memes, being a language of the Internet spread like a fire on tickspeed 9001, and this is exactly what we need, make them, share them, join in on the fun.
The more creative the better. If you know anyone with audience, gaming journalist or a group of friends - tell them about the new wiki, lets make as many of Minecraft players aware as possible.
Do read this new investigatory piece on the web of money, AI companies, and shadowy “foundations” bankrolling the EU anti-encryption proposals. TL;DR this is the terrifying thing you get when you combine law enforcement, money and AI. https://balkaninsight.com/2023/09/25/who-benefits-inside-the-eus-fight-over-scanning-for-child-sex-content/
Know what'd be fun?
Slap a random manufacturer's sticker on these things and go round pretending like you sneezed too hard and went a couple feet out of your own timestream.
"Oh this? This is my Yamaha Lua. Your phone's made by who? Samsung? The tyre company? They rate restaurants too in my world. Anyway I like to play games on my Bally Pocketron here..."

General block recommendation for "Tier 0" level instances (technical caveat added)
I've been seeing posts about #fediblock -ing widely-known bad-actor instances, or even individual users on those instances. These places are well-known sources of harassment and bigotry that appear in Oli's Tier 0 blocklist (consensus of sources) or Seirdy's FediNuke, and I recommend that new instance admins without even minimal blocks import at least one of these to save yourself duplicated effort and your users the stress of encountering hate & harassment.
Oliphant's Tier 0: https://codeberg.org/oliphant/blocklists/src/branch/main/blocklists/tier0.csv
Seirdy's larger Tier 0 and smaller FediNuke lists are linked from the documentation, which you should read before using either list: https://seirdy.one/posts/2023/05/02/fediverse-blocklists/
The lists can be imported by saving as a .csv and using the "Import" button on the upper right of the federation menu in modern Mastodon versions. (EDIT: Seirdy's lists appear not be formatted for direct import.)
To be clear, importing these lists is not a "solution" to bigotry on the fedi because social problems do not have technical solutions. It is, rather, a usability measure cutting off many of the sources of the worst harassment and abuse. These instances have wasted enough of the fedi's collective time and energy, don't let them waste yours.
A long awaited day has finally arrived, Minecraft Wiki has moved from Fandom to https://minecraft.wiki.
We were able to bring a lot of improvements with this move including less ads, a new skin, faster load time and more.
Please visit https://minecraft.wiki/w/Minecraft_Wiki:Moving_from_Fandom for details why we've made this decision.
Soon we will also share how YOU can help entire Minecraft community reach forked wiki.
Thank you to everyone who have helped making this a reality. ❤️
In the process of moving to @joepie91. This account will stay active for the foreseeable future! But please also follow the other one.

Sometimes horny on main (behind CW), very much into kink (bondage, freeuse, CNC, and other stuff), and believe it or not, very much a submissive bottom :p

Strong views about abolishing oppression, hierarchy, agency, and self-governance - but I also trust people by default and give them room to grow, unless they give me reason not to. That all also applies to technology and how it's built.
