TIL: `git archive` which makes a tarball/zip of a git repo and a version number. Handy for making things which you can give to someone to deploy.
git archive --remote gitea@gitea.example.org:username/project.git 4.0 --format tar.gz -o webfrontewnd.tar.gz --prefix /srv/service/webfrontend/

@gedeonm I just came by two pieces of his work in zagreb. They are lovely dots of color on the grey street.
If you are publicly visible as a trans person, I guarantee there is a trans person somewhere who wants to be like you (at least in some ways).
But it also gives hope. I think of the person that I saw that gave me enough hope to transition -- someone in my field who didn't lose her career. You never know when you might be that person for someone else.
Seriously, Facebook needs to stop inventing a new bespoke build system for every project
demanding that the people asking for things to suck less provide you with step-by-step written instructions on how to make things suck less is a bad look, actually.
especially when the people asking for things to suck less have pointed at what sucks and what can be done to fix it.
"hey can you not do this thing it makes me literally sick to my stomach because brain reasons"
"DO WE JUST TAG EVERYTHING?!"
"one, not what I said. two, soundin' awful reactionary there comrade."
"BUT WHAT DO I DOOOOOOOOOOO I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO TAG UNTIL PEOPLE ASK"
I know what you can do: you can catch a fucking block because we didn't start mutuals and you clearly didn't catch the fact that I was asking people to "use content warnings on your fucking AI generated images" in my first post.
One day I’ll write a book „how to build scalable system for the 95%“.
You’ll be able to summarize it with
- pick any mainstream language
- deploy on one server
- deploy Postgres on another server
- double the number of server for redundancy
So many systems I’ve seen lately could run off in memory SQLite and a replication to a CSV file.
Yet there’s a relational database, a document database, a key value store and four services deployed on k8s for all 100MB data and 2000 customers.
"It depends", "can you define that?", "just making sure we're on the same page" are all great starting points but get you maybe 25% towards an actual solution and redirect the bulk of the work back on others. You need empathy and curiosity to listen, but you also need to steer, scope, and bring decisions to the table if you are going to be an actual leader.
This happens so often. I don't want to sit in front of my desk to play games! The Gameboy is a perfect little object, and I wanna take it and play these games while snuggling on the sofa with my sweetie, or while out in the sunshine and fresh air, or while on the bus going to work!
In the process of moving to @joepie91. This account will stay active for the foreseeable future! But please also follow the other one.

Sometimes horny on main (behind CW), very much into kink (bondage, freeuse, CNC, and other stuff), and believe it or not, very much a submissive bottom :p

Strong views about abolishing oppression, hierarchy, agency, and self-governance - but I also trust people by default and give them room to grow, unless they give me reason not to. That all also applies to technology and how it's built.
