@argumento Serious question: what, exactly, would "stopping their activity to post about this" have achieved? What is the actual goal of expecting everyone to do so?

If your idea of liberation doesn’t include rest, joy, dumb jokes, shitty movies, and community care, then it’s just another boot with a new logo

People deserve to feel joy, not just survive. #Monsterdon is part of that.

No apologies

Hong Kong protestors say:

"Do Not Split."

Do not condemn the people on your side who embrace tactics you disagree with.

Do. Not. Split.

@marlies Something like this maybe? reddit.com/r/SodaStream/commen

(I was trying to find that post I saw a while ago about carbonating water with baking soda but I ran across this instead)

For a while after the Ottawa occupation a few years back, i carried an airhorn.
I only got to use it twice.
Each time, one of those dipshits started ranting about masking and vaccines and trudeau... whipped it outof my toolbox, pressed the button.... put the fucking horn RIGHT in their stupid faces until they fucked off.
It was quite effective.

IQ is fake. Being "smart" is fake. It's not an identity.

@UntaggedTransmitter I mean, I can do the soldering part, but I dread accidentally breaking something in the process of opening it up, given how aggressively anti-repair a lot of hardware is nowadays

Love having to do maintenance on my portable airco, and finding that the only place with any kind of helpful disassembly guidance is a Youtube channel named "Clueless Guy"

isreal, eupol, piracy

I look forward to the EU declaring piracy legal now that they have to defend israel doing it

@raine (But then that would've required FOSS folks as a category to understand that there's a broader ethical component to the whole FOSS thing and well, we've seen how well that went)

@raine Yeah it does, public licenses were a neat little legal hack in their time but they're *really* not a very good tool for the long term, and the FOSS world really should've worked to build better structures and tools for this sort of stuff over the years 😕

@raine I'm not sure this would be possible; the GPL, like any public license, can only impose restrictions on usages that are normally prevented by copyright, so either "AI" training is a derivative work under copyright (and then the license already covers it) or it isn't (and then there's no way the license can make demands in the first place)

Looks like Mozilla is killing off one of their "AI" things, Orbit

#PublicDomain no AI icons! Meant to look well with the Creative Commons symbols (despite them not being anti-AI, last i looked at least) and yah, feel free to use on your instances or websites or art or wherever!

Here's the source so its easily modifiable too! freesvg.org/no-ai-icons

@starfire But I definitely would not be buying Logitech mice if it weren't for that

@starfire I mean, I've had generally much better outcomes with mice from other brands, just none of them make trackballs with a viable ergonomic configuration for me (and are also for sale in NL)
