@jonny seeing things coming just makes it worse when we're right
@jonny can we just say we've been really annoyed how none of the debates about mozilla's now-gone funding model we've been in over the last ten years, led to any way to convince the org to pivot? bleh
@rune Or well. Upon further reflection probably more like a 90/10 percent chance really, in favour of the meat grinder, given how this stuff is handled in most places
@rune It's a 50/50 chance honestly, it might be either a pedestrian crossing or a meat grinder depending on whether the local authority has ever heard of the concept of infrastructure safety
Dunno, if people jaywalk so much in a place that you have to put up a sign forbidding it maybe that means you forgot to install the pedestrian infrastructure.
@rune There is no pedestrian crossing in these pictures, you must've uploaded the wrong ones
Ran across the phrase "growth at the rate of trust" (h/t @kawaiipunk), and it summarizes my feelings about a lot of things (social media included) so well
I don't know who needs to hear this but you are still allowed to have fun and see friends and eat a slow dinner and celebrate things, even while "all this" is going on. Make your five calls, be part of a protest, pick your piece of "the work" each week but also make sure to nourish yourself and your networks because we are going to continue needing each other.
I have run out of books to read again!
Looking for recommendations for queer sci-fi in the broadest sense (other than Becky Chambers - I've already read all of that), particularly that which tends toward a hopeful view.
It doesn't have to be happy-go-lucky, I just don't like the "everything is doomed and misery forever" thing that especially post-apocalyptic stories tend to do.
(Bonus points if you know where to buy a DRM-free ePub for it)
@joepie91 we feel this in our soul 😓
Technical debt collector and general hype-hater. Early 30s, non-binary, ND, poly, relationship anarchist, generally queer.
Sometimes horny on main (behind CW), very much into kink (bondage, freeuse, CNC, and other stuff), and believe it or not, very much a submissive bottom :p
Feel free to flirt, but if you want to actually meet up and/or do something with me, lewd or otherwise, please tell me explicitly or I won't realize :) I'm generally very open to that sort of thing!
Further boundaries: boosts are OK (including for lewd posts), DMs are open. But the devil doesn't need an advocate; I'm not interested in combative arguing in my mentions. I am however happy to explain things in-depth when asked non-combatively.
My spoons are limited, so I may not always have the energy to respond to messages.
Strong views about abolishing oppression, hierarchy, agency, and self-governance - but I also trust people by default and give them room to grow, unless they give me reason not to. That all also applies to technology and how it's built.
