Verdict: I think the municipality is serious about it, but the format this time didn't really work that well. Overwhelmingly cishet white folks it seemed, and definitely some people overwhelming the roundtable 'group' conversation. Not much room for going into any real depth, a lot of repetition.

I'll cut them some slack since it was their first attempt, though! They intend to adjust the format based on feedback, and do these regularly, apparently.

I did get the impression that the person taking notes on behalf of the municipality was doing a good job and genuinely understanding the points. I think 1:1 conversations would've worked better here, there really wasn't enough time or preparation for the 'group' aspect to add that much.

Poverty is on the rise in Africa. The pain, however, is not evenly distributed.

On average, lived poverty is at its worst level in a quarter-century of Afrobarometer surveys.

fatphobia

jesus christ fatphobia is way too socially acceptable, like, it really is one of the final levels of just being normal about a person, apparently

but also, the VITRIOL people will have when you confront them about it is like, genuinely confusing

not to sound all naive or w/e it's just like
so many people get REALLY defensive and emotional about hating fat people

On a more serious note - fuck raspberry for hiring ex-cop with proficiency in surveillance then doubling down when they got backlash. We didn’t forget, we will not forget.
Find better board if you need one, don’t default to raspberry, there are plenty competitors

extra context, re: meds, input wanted! :boost_request: :reply_request:

@multisn8 Some additional context for these requirements: I have a recent kidney transplant and so I have half a pharmacy worth of medication to take twice a day, with specific time interval ranges, and the exact amounts change every week. Think something like 10-15 different pills in the morning

long, re: meds, input wanted! :boost_request: :reply_request:

@multisn8 Basically:
- Minimum complexity, maximum reliability
- Stock tracking (to know when I need to order new meds)
- Ability to preset periodic 'medication moments' with associated doses
- But also the ability to mark individual doses as 'used up', eg. when I lose a pill and need to grab a new one
- Support for mixed-dose medication (eg. one 500mg pill and one 250mg pill) and partial pills (including smaller than the 'official' partitions)
- Ironically the 'reminder' part is the one I need the least because a phone alarm is enough for me, it's mostly about tracking whether I've taken them and whether I need to order new ones, and so it should also let me choose *not* to set a reminder for a given medication moment (because it is eg. anchored to my wakeup time, not clock time)

All of these would be needs for me, rather than nice-to-haves; to replace my current manual workflow with a piece of software it would need to be able to replace 100% of the workflow, otherwise I just end up with two separate systems (which increases chance of error).

So in summary my ideal system would let me specify the medication stock I have (per medication type *and* unit dose), amounts that are subtracted at specific moments, and optionally a clock-time reminder mechanism. And then a 'restocked' button and 'consume extra unit dose' button.

Anyway they're organizing a... thing for residents to show up to and discuss how local inclusivity can be improved, which I'll be going to this evening, so I guess we'll learn more about how serious they are about this 🙂

(Well technically I learned this a few days ago and forgot to post it)

Today I learned that we have an alderman of Inclusivity in my municipality

@rallias I'm not so sure; you need to actually click a button to start the download, it'd be weird if it just counted the pageviews for the download page

675,480 requests within 48 hours, +100GB of traffic coming from 843+ IP addresses.

That's the result of a single AI crawler finding my forgejo instance for personal projects.

This specific crawler is now "banned". I'm not angry or anything, rather just disappointed that AI makers make shoddy crawlers. It made me however find the issue in my filter list that made me earlier disable certain blocking rule because it targeted legitimate traffic.

@ardaxi This so painfully recognizable (though with different topics for me!)

I've been trying to dig deeper into ZFS internals lately. Found some questions asked a couple years ago that looked promising, only to find out that those questions were answered back then. By me. This has happened five times now.
