@smveerman "You're in the wrong place, train stops a distance away from you"?
If you ever leave a community - any community - because of (systemic) problems with it, *please* post the reasons publicly if you are able to.
You don't need to engage with people questioning your reasons or asking you things, or any other replies - merely state your motivation for leaving, what led up to it.
It may sound like a small thing, but it is *immensely* helpful to the people staying behind fighting to fix the community's issues, who will have a concrete thing to point towards to show that other people are not tolerating it either.
@piegames @nanianmichaels@tech.lgbt I think the problem is that this implementation relies on trust in 'the folks up top' that has already largely dissipated over the past years
Anyone here with any experience of #RucksackRepair #OutdoorRepair #HikingKitRepair? I want to replace the zip on my rucksack which is now so old the teeth keep opening up unpredictably. I've replaced zips on clothes before but never outdoor kit. Am I looking for a specific type of especially strong zip, or will any do?
#WestSeattle street-name planning has, uh, incurred a persistent cognitive load tax on pedestrian and automotive street users alike
Be especially kind to trans/agender/non-binary people in the UK today
Lots of news sites and people are going to be discussing a high profile report into the UK’s NHS and gender identity.
One of the report’s conclusions is around the toxicity of the “debate”, which is no surprises and is borne out by some of the headlines I’ve seen in papers today,
Anticipate plenty of anti-trans comments and sentiment today so please be extra kind and supportive to people in your life who could be affected.

Also I've said it before and I'll say it again our Tech communities have an accessibility problem.
It's incredibly hard to understand why some blockers are blockers, an inaccessible interface is only part of it.
Often the community attitude renders it inaccessible as well.
I have some thoughts about FOSS sustainability and burnout.
If we want projects to be a part of the commons to encourage the commons to join in, they need to be able to afford to.
TLDR: We need universal basic income. Our current systems can't cover everything.
If we want to prevent maintainer burnout, we need better support structures. Which isn't going to happen with anymore Orgs set up specially.
Don't do this, people. It helps no one and if anything pushes people away from our community.
Technical debt collector and general hype-hater. Early 30s, non-binary, ND, poly, relationship anarchist, generally queer.

Sometimes horny on main (behind CW), very much into kink (bondage, freeuse, CNC, and other stuff), and believe it or not, very much a submissive bottom :p
My spoons are limited, so I may not always have the energy to respond to messages.
Strong views about abolishing oppression, hierarchy, agency, and self-governance - but I also trust people by default and give them room to grow, unless they give me reason not to. That all also applies to technology and how it's built.
