Me: Please someone help me find an old 4 part faux-Let's Play/Game Guide of either Skool Daze or Bak 2 Skool from Youtube, where the quality and relevance descended further and further as it went on until the player was just yelling directly into the microphone. Sounded a bit like "Big In The Mind" by Andrew Octopus, if it was a set of gaming vids instead of a trippy lo-fi experimental song.

I think my only real complaint about the Glove80 so far is that the tenting mechanism is kind of terrible

@hazelnot @183231bcb Well, sort of; you can switch between the layouts with a button combo. If the button print bothers you you can also screw it open and move the caps around, as the switches are not soldered, so a screwdriver and some patience is all you need.
I have rearranged my keyboard layout again and now it goes ESC, F2, F3, F4...
I didn't need F1 anyway

@183231bcb Belated note: it can connect as either a DirectPlay (old-style) or xinput (new, XBox-style) controller, using the connection toggle switch. So that should make it work with pretty much everything.

Reporters addressing AI text/image generators -and- defensive tools like Glaze and Nightshade should be asking organizations about energy consumption. Every. Freaking. Time. Until there is a clear answer about what the product costs the world.

@183231bcb I ended up getting a GuliKit KingKong 2 Pro controller, and I've been quite happy with it:
- Feels very pleasant and high-quality
- Can be used either wired or wireless
- Works out of the box on pretty much everything, including consoles and Linux
- Has drift-free analog sticks with a *very* tiny (and configurable) deadzone
- All configuration (optional) is done through special key combinations, not in drivers, this includes a key swap for action buttons (for switching to mapping conventions of different consoles)
The one I bought did arrive with a sticky switch; I asked them to send me a replacement switch (wanted to replace it myself) and they sent me a 4-pack. I assume they also do normal repairs. The one major downside is the price.

nowadays my go to answer to "wait so why do you use linux" is "i hate when my computer does things i don't tell it to do and i hate when my computer doesnt let me do things i want it to do" because that is the actual reason. i am not trying to convince anyone of shit

Is there a way to enter our authorization codes by typing them instead of speaking aloud to the computer? Several crew members have complained that they need to memorize a new code after each use because coworkers overheard them.
