In retrospect, the idea that we should monetize our free time, spare space, and unused car through gig apps should have been repugnant even without knowing it would lead to an entire industry of unregulated taxis and hotels
I think that what pisses me off most about this, is that all this grant money *could* have been used to do so much good, and could have been life-changing for people... but instead, it ended up basically 'seeding' some tech for a hypercapitalist cryptoshit company, to save them a buck
(It's Tether/Bitfinex who have taken it over, by the way. Yeah, the ones who have been artificially pumping up exchange rates.)

Basically, they installed a ‘smart’ lighting system relying on proprietary software that the vendor no longer supports. The system failed and the lights are stuck permanently on.
And this, friends, is the problem with unfree software.
