Good morning. You can be great and let that greatness influence the world around you. But you have to resist the pressure of the world trying to mold you in it's image. Go make the world a kinder safer place for those without power, and an unforgiving, hostile place to those who would abuse their power.

Make it so!

anti raspberry pi foundation shitpost

raspberry pi foundation is bad for you, actually. i strongly recomnend to use normal foundation from beauty stores for your makeup rather than creaming raspberry pies into your face.

minetest dungeon generator mod update, pics

the dungeon occasionally cuts into caves with vegetation in them now !!

As a non- #blind person I secretly enjoy reading the image descriptions people post. It is a nice way to see what is important to them and how they put it in words.

Hover over the images - it is fun. 🙂

Fediverse: There is one good company on here.

RPi Foundation: *Hires cop whose job was surveillance, replies with snark when asked to consider at least how they made the announcement.*

@joepie91 Last year, I had a delivery notice sent to me on December 16 for something I should've received that day? That updated the delivery date to December 15.

Which was nice. We all needed a time machine.

@jordan Heh, nope, this was my meal kit delivery stuff. It won't really matter because I've blocked out delivery for that timespan anyway :p

"Due to the holiday season, we have moved your delivery date from January 5 to January 5"

O...kay?

When it comes to tech companies, Harvey Dent’s line about dying a hero or living long enough to become the villain is a haunting reminder of just how much of a dangerous game tech companies play with people’s lives and minds.

As an IT professional myself with 18 years experience across a handful of different kinds of positions and companies, it’s getting to the point now where I just want to dedicate my expertise to building alternatives.

they should make a "strawberry pi" account on brands town and make fun of raspberry pi imo

BREAKING: Raspberry Pi Foundation tells victims of police violence to "just chill and be an adult" on social media, the company was unavailable for comment at the time of publication.

Okay, but seriously

The idea that moderation should happen in the manner they suggest

1. If you *wanted* to make it impossible to defederate from a bad instance quickly, and you wanted to give them a chance to continue to abuse users, this is how to do it

2. Mandatory public receipts is a terrible idea if you care about user safety at all and will be weaponized

3. Voting about whether a thing is racist/sexist/homophobic aka having constant referenda about the value of these groups :yikes:

re: qoto, bad instance

@eldaking @researchfairy That is 100% the intention of the name

qoto, bad instance

@researchfairy I wonder how anyone still federates with qoto. Between the block evasion scandal, the "freeze peach" commitment, the extremely suspicious exceptions in their rules, proudly saying they don't block any instances...

And now talking about how bad it is when others defederate. Like, is there anyone that can't see this is a server with extremely low standards, that is constantly being blocked by a lot of people?

For fuck's sake, just the name. "Question others to teach ourselves", it is clearly an instance _focused_ on sealioning.

@JennyFluff@queer.af How I do this is by leaving a `// FIXME` comment in place so that I can easily find to-be-refactored parts of the code later. Could also use a more specific tag than that.

Welp.

I certainly didn’t expect the actual Raspberry Pi folks to announce hiring a former surveillance cop with such pomp and circumstance before dismissing concerned people with a genuinely baffling amount of snark and playfulness.

But that’s what’s happened and I’ve blocked the [former] cop and the entire Raspberry Pi instance as a result.

I’ll have to find another way to build a mini-computer as Raspberry Pi seem to have no issue letting a former surveillance cop work for them.

BREAKING: Raspberry Pi Foundation joins United Federation of Instances, Tony Blair welcomed the company in a short statement saying that they "have a lot in common".
